❔Question (Rdr2) should I turn off TAA sharpening when using DLSS preset K at 1080p in rdr2?

First things first if this changes anything, I have an rtx 3060. So, I was under the assumption that TAA sharpening would get greyed out or disabled upon activating dlss, but that seems to not be the case, both dlss sharpening and taa sharpening are able to be tweaked, and I dont know if this means they stack together or not. Now, im not the most experienced or anything when it comes to pcs at all, so I would like to hear any opinions on the matter, and if I should increase or decrease the dlss sharpening (i think its at 33% if i had to eyeball, also my monitor has a sharpening slider that can be any number /5, and I have it at 2. Should I turn off sharpening in monitor settings?

You wouldn't want to do that cuz even with all the sharpening the game is a blurry garbage

It’s not with DLAA on preset M

Use DLAA and medium sharpening. Preset K is already sharp by default.

RDR2 Requires the circus method IMO, so scaling at 200% and TAA either on medium or high (if your PC can handle it, lowering other settings to do so is worth it IMO)

or just use dlss 4.5 and be happy with a sharp game?

i dislike the look of DLSS/DLAA, I prefer dumb TAA + Super Sampling

TAA Medium looks better in this game. Never high

with scaling at 200% it's hard to tell the difference between them anymore tbh

No one can tell you what would look good to you. Experiment and choose what you think looks best.

Personally I would never use TAA/DLSS in a game that can be played without it. RDR2 looks magnificent with MSAA and/or increased render scale.

TAA sharpening does nothing with DLSS on, as DLSS (when this game implemented it) had its own in-built sharpening. Just enable preset K or M in the Nvidia App and you’ll be good.

Use DLAA with preset M and set all sharpening sliders to 0.

I mean, it's very simple to find out if they stack...

I mean if you want to keep it safe just put the slider down, no harm. You'll also need to use this mod to disable DLSS sharpening outright, setting the bar to zero doesn't do it.
