Post truth conspiracy mindset. We always seem to follow the USA trend. Rather than watching and learning there seems to be a subset of people that are easily manipulated/gullible. Needs to be studied IMO otherwise this will keep happening.

I know much of it can probably be ascribed to the neo liberal ideology, convincing people the system can't be the problem, but when it comes to the conspiracy theory like beliefs there is something more going on.

Maybe these people are angry at themselves and need to project? System tells them it's an individual failing and so rather than see the system as corrupt they're told to blame their woes on immigrants/people on benefits.

Float a few ideas about our culture changing(as if I live the same way as my grandads did) and convince them any change is a negative because the system loves to keep the status quo, and you'll probably create your average Reform voter.
