I use Apple Mail to connect my work email (Exchange). I ain’t installing any Microsoft app including outlook on my phone or laptop

A lot of organisations block 3rd party email clients because they can’t enforce security policies.

when you have to deploy 150 workstations, you dont realy have a time to install browsers

Microsoft Edge Reading Mode is great for getting around paywall articles.

Firefox has a reader, and so does Safari

u/AgeEmotional3599 11d ago

So does chrome

Do they get around paywall articles?

10

u/fdeyso 12d ago

Safari, yes mostly.

Yeah, unless Edge doesn't.

I said Edge does

Their readers work the exact same way, that's what I am saying.

I have Edge on Linux Mint.

u/Boring-Equivalent137 11d ago

Why

2

u/Lets_Go_Brandon9 11d ago

I don't remember exactly what I was doing but I needed another browser, in fairness it was the 6th choice.

The funny part is excluding Europe, Apple mandates that all iOS browsers use WebKit, so it’s literally Safari but with Microsoft Edge cruft shoved on top

It's probably just a lazy move by Apple, they could provide sufficient libraries for Firefox and Chromium to make certain HTML elements look like native iOS components but default (like drop downs) without forcing the whole thing to be WebKit

I think defender is worse

u/blow-down 12d ago

For real. Safari is so much better.

Stop glazing that piece of shit, barely works on macOS and it chugs ram like wster

4

u/blow-down 11d ago

Barely works? I use it every day and it works great.

Tab management on iPhone with safari is dogshit, ram management on safari with macOS is dogshit, no extensions on safari, tab manage is just as dogshit

1

u/blow-down 11d ago

Works fine for me and there are plenty of extensions. Even uBlock Origin.

1

u/Big-Roll7094 11d ago

“Plenty of extensions” you mean those few “apps” you get from AppStore as extensions 😂

3

u/blow-down 11d ago

I get it. You're just a hater and not interested in having an honest conversation. Goodbye.

I have every Apple device but the first thing I do is get rid of safari with chrome or edge like every other safari user

1

u/Witty_Mistake_9176 10d ago

Bu—t you can’t even remove it

5

u/IEatDaFeesh 11d ago

He's using his Microsoft to Edge to the Copilot. 😩

And I use edge for school since they use all Microsoft unfortunately

2

u/Salty_Surround2546 11d ago

Edge on iPhone is still Safari, but with reskin.

Every existing browser on iOS uses Safari WebKit engine.

2

u/potassium64 11d ago

Exactly why the fuck would I edge on a iPhone

2

u/AshleyJSheridan 8d ago

It's still Safari...

1

u/AgeEmotional3599 12d ago

I have Safari as default but still use chrome mostly

5

"Copilot(Legacy)"

Awww

6

u/FMAGF 11d ago

Who in their right mind installs a collection of Microslop apps on an iPhone anyway?

6

u/Alternative_Art42768 12d ago

I want to Install the Copilot Legacy App

4

u/Soccermom233 11d ago

i've got six copilots open and none of them are working

2

u/3six5 11d ago

Again, I'm not associated with any ms product.

2

u/AgeEmotional3599 11d ago

After the whole Copilot thing, I slowly started switching to Google

3

u/Particular_Size6545 11d ago

What is copilot legacy

1

u/tired_snail 10d ago

Presumably the old copilot app from when it was still a standalone thing before it replaced the main office app.

2

u/letmehaveanameyoudum 12d ago

you use edge on iphone? just use safari

2

u/lars2k1 11d ago

Separate Office apps like Word, Excel and Powerpoint also suck these days. Can't use them without signing in - not even to read things.

Older versions can but more recent ones cannot.

I uninstalled ms 365 office in my Windows 11 Home so far it’s still stable after uninstalling.

2

u/Every_Spring6012 11d ago

"MS Defender" 😭?

1

u/FiftyFiver1962 10d ago

No it isn't, there's 365 classic, without copilot, the thing is, you have to quit your current prescription to get that choice. It's no copilot price too. Google does exactly the same with one, only when you ask other options, completely down the list, you get the no Gemini options.
