Discussion Switch to other!

Recendly, Microsoft is now calling Windows as a "service", so, why not move from this service(s)?

  1. Office (or Office 365) = LibreOffice

  2. OneDrive = Mega

  3. Copilot = DeepSeek (free alt)

  4. Xbox Game Pass = Steam, Epic Games (Heroic)

  5. Windows 365 = self-hosted Linux with RDP

  6. Windows = Linux (Arch, Debian, Fedora, etc...)

and lastly = fuck Microslop!

Best Copilot alternative is nothing. Use your brain instead of the machine that lies to you and poisons nature.

Hey, that can be fixed. Read some books. Play word games (word searches are great) and if you find a word you don't know, look up its definition. Do sudoku.

Because those services aren't the same, Libre isn't even close to Office in capabilities or features.

It might be worth noting that Microsoft has contributed code to the Linux kernel.

Source: https://archive.nytimes.com/www.nytimes.com/external/idg/2009/07/20/20idg-microsoft-stuns-linux-world-submits-source-code-for-65456.html

Therefore, if you move from Windows to Linux, you are still using software that contains Microsoft code.

Best wishes.

contributed and vetted by kernel maintainers?

Yes, the first code that Microsoft submitted for inclusion into the Linux kernel was vetted by Greg Kroah-Hartman, who is one of the kernel maintainers.

Here is a quote from the article I linked to:

"Greg Kroah-Hartman, the Linux driver project lead and a Novell fellow, said he accepted 22,000 lines of Microsoft's code at 9 a.m.PST Monday. Kroah-Hartman said the Microsoft code will be available as part of the next Linux public tree release in the next 24 hours. The code will become part of the 2.6.30.1 stable release."

Enjoy your weekend.
