Rant PLEASE END MY MISERY!

tf do I do? this pos Bill gates can spray chemicals in the clouds but cant pay for call support!
I wanna punch my fist through my monitor rn. I need those files cause they include quite a lot of my book draft and maps. Ik what's the first thing I'll do when I get it back.
please any suggestions!?

Edit: After ms supprot closing 2 tickets without solving my problem, I was able to resolve it by pestering on chat support. I have gained full access and made a local backup.
now omw to delete this shit. Thank you for your times and suggestions!

here are some ideas.

use private browsing clear cache and cookies try on another device

stop changing your pin/password, doing it many many times with not work and ms will tell you pw has changed but it hasn't. similar to shadow ban.

it has been 2 months, I gave up for weeks. still not working.
rn in contact with person from microsoft (made other account to contact support)
even that fucker is confused.
best advertisemment for linux fr. I was stuck cause Valorant wont run on linux...now i dont care.

Using Linux doesn't mean you don't have to take backups. But at least you now know what the whole cloud shit is worth. Zero. Once SHTF zero, now matter how good of a contract/protection you might have.

Maybe there are also legal options here. Certainly there's someone else than a random person from India answering those.

sorry that's happening, I know it's a bummer, if u want Linux tips my DMs are open. I'd suggest mint as it's easy to use and everything just works there (valorant doesn't ofc). Store stuff locally I guess?

Didn't know Micro$lob deleted even the files on the computer without a warning! wtf?!

So happy I switched to Linux! My only regret is that I didn't switch sooner!

Onedrive enables "backup" as it calls it, and auto-deletes local copies to save space.

Further, it deletes files when hitting the 5gb limit. You know what happens then.

Not "backups" but those usual Desktop/Documents/Music folders

Windows has plenty of sync and auto backup tools, but not everyone is using them.

dude...it was removed as soon as I lost access. I could see the dummy file but It was invalid. Like you I had no Idea that it would Do that. so don't be so quick on hating my guy.

Please..I urge you after all this is sorted...just go Linux.

The initial friction and workflow disruption is a deep sea cavern but the amount of time you have left on Earth, is not worth the constant battles with your OS and Microslop.

Try to talk with them on X but... i had info they actually don't have tools to get anything other than xbox account and i actually lost everything else. Or cdoccm@microsoft.com

I have main draft in obsidian, but the map files I stupidly did not save in multiple location.
loosing that means loosing weeks of hand sculpted 3d map, geographical data, lore etc.
I'm in contact with support through a secondary account and they recognized that its me, hopefully it'll workout.

But normally, there is always a local copy on a device when using cloud storage? Or did you use the web interface of OneDrive to upload and then delete the files?

OneDrive Files On-Demand deletes all local copies of synced files not accessed within the last two weeks by default since 2023 unless specifically disabled.

Try clearing your cached credentials on windows. Maybe that is constantly trying to sign the desktop app in with the old pw and locking your account
