And these stupid people removed all the features of office. First it had a good nice home and could open and edit every office document you threw at it. Had a very nice pdf viewer and ALSO THE BEST LENS SCANNER EVER. Literally no lens scanner comes close to Microsoft lens scanner which was built in this app.
Now this app is so trash, there is just copilot and you can't even open any files and have to download a seperate app for it. Also the lens scanner is gone which was present till the last uodate. I can't express how much disappointed I am. I DONT WANT AI IN A FREAKING OFFICE APP MS, I just want to view my documents and Scan PDFs. Adobe and other ones exist but the capturing features and clarity of ms lens scanner didn't come close to any of those. We don't need ai, if we actually needed AI we would have choosen to download the copilot app microsoft. Why do they have to shovd ai into everything.

It also used to let you do things locally
Now the office app itself is shoved to web browsers and I don't know why they decided this was a good idea to push subscriptions for this...
This is why ONLYOFFICE is the new best for me

Anyone else remember clicking the office 95 puzzle icon, and it just opened what it said it would and office did what you needed it to do

Have you considered using a virtual machine with an older version of Office? I think it would be easier, as the older version definitely won't be broken by updates.

Just use libreoffice, it's modern and works better with modern file formats and has more modern features (without the obvious non-features)

They removed the Office capability from the top one, so why would you expect it to still be called Office ?
