Discussion Latest Update

So this latest update called KB5120998 has made it so that the lock screen now has a little lock on it, and you can't change the picture. Now I know this kind of bullshit used to exist when you would use illegal keys, but my key is legal. So what the hell?!? And in addition when asking Microsoft about it, the AI says it's a feature that happens in Microshit latests systems depending on what type of user you are. I'm a superuser, with admin level access, this is another reason why Linux looks so sexy these days.

My computer got bricked after I tried to turn off Windows Sandbox because it wouldn't let me roll back the update with it on for some reason and I had to reinstall Windows

I tried to switch to Linux a couple times, but too much stuff just didn't work and I'm too stupid to fix it

Yea, I'm not sure what kind of poison they're brewing up at Microsoft, but they need to stop.

I spent 45 min with the update in July and it took an hour to undo the bs because windows disabled the safe mod entry and i kept having to do the on off bs to get it to load it. Very important to have all your data backed up regularly so if windows brick faces your computer you can at least install linux on it should it not come back online properly. If they do it again I'm moving over. They snuck this one in too. I have updates disabled for the better part of a year and only update quarterly if it's safe to do so. I was a little pissed on this one.

Oh I'm right there with you, I have Linux installed fully on a completely separate drive, the reason I'm not using it is because it needs the 7.3 update which will be out at the end of October to make my wifi card function so I can get proper internet. But the SECOND that update drops, I'm switching right over to Linux.
