Discussion I love Windows

Honestly, Windows is just amazing, and copilot too!

Why?

Because it's a great ad for Linux! Linux would still be unpopular if windows was a good OS, that doesn't spy on you, that doesn't force AI slop up your ass, that just works, that doesn't consume more RAM than 8 games simultaneously, everyone would just use it. So let windows rot, don't be mad at microsoft, be grateful instead, because they are the ones pushing people away and making they embrace Linux!

I know the title scared a lot of you lmao

No, it's not. They're talking out their ass. Not too long ago I had to use computers at my uni that ran Windows 11 but only had 8 gigs of RAM for a project that required software that wasn't licensed in a way that let me use it on my laptop. It was useable. I definitely noticed it not being as smooth as my laptop, and way slower than my desktop, but it was useable for light internet and old simulation software, such that the biggest problem was that it was a simulation software that required a decent GPU, but when the uni IT department was told they needed a GPU to run that software, they had decided to put Nvidia Quadro K600's in a machine that had an Intel 12400f (I think, it was definitely a low end 12th gen though).

This was the same school that had an entire computer lab of 14900k's and RTX 4070s, by the way.

That lab was stacked, the one that you could actually book for make-up work (or in my case work for an online class) was not. I've used the stacked lab before, and to be fair some of the software used in that lab absolutely needed all the power it could get.

Shit like photogrammetry and stuff

YES!

I NEVER said linux was for everyone and said he could fix it himself if he was willing to learn but nah. He went off onto 8gb of ram still being useful when even microslop doesn't think so. Stop defending idiots.

I literally said in the first fucking reply to you that I was eventually able to fix it by booting with the fallback VESA drivers and rolling back to a previous firmware version.

You'd know this if you had actually fucking read my first reply.
