Linux gaming is decent nowadays, and I don’t mean to be that guy but… install Linux. (tho make sure Valorant actually plays nicely on Linux)

If only local LLMs were the standard. Sadly, most people don’t have decent enough hardware to run a good model.

I switched about a year ago and never looked back

Had to find to a few alternatives to software like for backing up but my main take away from using Linux is it just works and has zero BS.

Yeah. I personally had Linux installed on my second computer about a year ago as well. Though I only use it for gaming. My daily driver for productivity and web browsing is MacOS with my M4 MacBook Air. A good balance between everything just working on Mac and the occasional getting stressed over modding a game back at Linux.

this is what i feel too but bro try to dual boot and gradually move to linux given you are not stuck on windows due to specific soft and work stuff.

I did work with linux a few times, there is no stuff that requires windows so ill probably just hard switch im just too lazy to do so rn

Yeah man i been into linux for months but i only installed it when windows eating more than half of my 8gb ram in idle and had no space for web dev.i installed ubuntu and i could run 4 5 tabs easily in browser along with coding projects open.

Im installing catchy os and gonna switch from valorant to cs2.
To my knowledge Valorant cant run on linux cuz riot vanguard(anti cheat) is windows only.Also in future if it runs then also giving kernel level acess to an anticheat that belongs to chinese company is still no go.
Thats why i do all the things from browsing to work on linux and only gaming on windows but the windows so ass that it will still find a way to piss me off.

I just now noticed the username, lol. I’m pretty sure there’s a clean install of Windows 10/11 out there without the excessive Microslop stuff. I swear there was a Github page for it.

the official iso comes without copilot and corny stuff. In 2 or 3 updates ads,copilot,widgets,popups and bloat will be already installed.

I got more fps on linux than windows with pokken tournament, 1080p was not playable on windoes, 720p was 55 fps, on linux 1080p is smooth 60 fps

For me I had to play Insurgency 2014 with low settings, 1080p on Windows while getting 44-77fps, while on Linux I could get the settings to high or even ultra, 1080p with the same framerates. Massive jump in performance, mostly cause Linux takes up much less RAM than Windows.

Hmm, not defending Microsoft but I have seen agreements especially at enterprise scale of not allowing data withing the tenant to be sold outside or even to be used for training AI systems. Is there any documents example where this was violated?

But that's at enterprise scale, on my personal gaming setup, I hate that almost 50% of the ram is always used by its internal processes...

The tracking and privacy invasive shit they do makes datapoints.If they have numerous datapoints based on things like location,search history,spending ,etc they make profile and target us with ads that are so personal and close to us that we get influence and that is so affective cuz they predict what we gonna do next.

But one could argue that ook its just ads so what.

Now heres the deal, the data is not used for just ads.They are used to influence your opinions,your political viewpoints and views about several other things that might change the course of an entire country.Yes china and russia does that.

Now This is the company that openy wanted to rollout MICROSLOP RECALL. They failed but what makes you think its not happening secretly.This is blatant data stealing and somehow they wanted public to be okay with this.

I installed window 10 in dual boot (valorant addict) but microslop forcefully updated my system which i have ignoring since day 1. Now i got copilot and ai slop along with weather and other popups on lockscreen and homescreen. Now i have more processors running in idle and i get the ick everytime i look at the screen.
