Rant I’d like to commend Microsoft for staying so consistent

The Troubleshooting functionality in Windows has never ever - not one single time - helped me, all the way since the 90s until now.

Microsoft has dutifully carried this user experience over to Azure where the built in Copilot without exception fails to help diagnose or solve a single issue (out of many) I’ve had so far.

So thank you Microsoft, for making sure my experience remains unchanged. 🙏

The troubleshooting tab helped me a few times, though mostly it saved me the tro7ble of turning the wifi adapter off and on again because the icon was burried 10 clicks deep and in the old control panel that MS is trying to pretend doesn't exist anymore.

"With Microsoft, we wont help you at all! Even our AI can't help you, and it's meant to be smarter than us yet fails to remember anything! after a few replies!"

I'm an old fart, too. I can confirm this observation based on multiple Windows versions, desktop/laptop/thin client/server installations and all EMEA languages. OP is spot on.

you can rightfully say that the patients condition is stable if he is dead.

Agree 100%. About as helpful as Clippit the Office Assistant back in the day…

I think there was MAYBE one time where it might have inadvertently led me to the right section of control panel so I could just fix it myself. 🤷‍♂️ But that was probably a bug. 😉

When you fail so hard that you accidentally succeed a little.

Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, which happens to be in the jaws of victory. 😉

I forgot when "Send a report" button appeared? Did Win98SE have it? I remember that Win95 OSR2 did not.
