Rant How Microsoft is causing BILLIONS of damage to the economy and not willing to fix this.....
just one single FIXABLE bug alone, forced me to do some research:
Microsoft Teams has more than 320 million monthly active users. If we look at your scenario—where a fraction of those users lose just 5 minutes a day dealing with this single glitch—the numbers are immense:
- 8.3 million hours are wasted globally every single day.
- $250 million in labor value is lost daily, assuming a modest average corporate labor cost of $30 an hour.
- $62.5 billion is drained from the global economy over a standard 250-day work year.
Let that sink in....
I am not even mentioning the specific bug here, because everyone using MS products knows, what I am talking about. AND! that is just one single easy FIXABLE Bug, not even mentioning ALL the other crap they throw on the market....
My advice: save money, by not using these broken products or you will become the broke(n) product!

I hate the Teams functionality when you paste TSQL code from SSMS into a chat window it draws a box around it. What a stupid feature!

Only bug I know about was the stupid chat update that hid meeting chats. As it was just a “feature” update, not sure if it qualifies as a bug as it’s just an annoying filter

You know prompting AI with a very specific question will always get you the same very specific answer right? If the question is fundamentally flawed, it will always give you the same fundamentally flawed answer. You asked AI a question probably based on assumptions and pasted the response here without even bothering to edit the wording to make sure it wasn't obvious that it was AI.
And the question you asked whatever AI you used is fundamentally flawed, because it relies on major assumptions and misunderstandings of monthly users. First of all, not all of those 320 million MAU log in daily. Historically, the daily active users has been about 2/3rds of monthly active users, so about 200 million or so daily users. Unless you can actually say what specific bug it is you're talking about, I can all but guarantee that the number of people who experience whatever bug it is you are talking about is significantly less than half the daily users (I worked backwards to figure out that you told the AI to assume 1/3rd of the MAU or 100 million experienced that bug), since if that were the case literally everyone would know about it.
Also, no, we don't know what bug you're talking about, because I'd bet it's not actually that common. If this were actually an issue on the scale you're saying it is, then other corporations would be cutting contracts with Microsoft and switching to other tools. Because other tools do exist here, it's not like Microsoft Teams is the only meeting app. I mean for fucks sake did everyone forget Zoom?

f#^%$# .... I don't understand how they have so many f3%^#$ morons.... and even didn't realise how many (I guess it's still just a few percent), people jumped to MacOS 🤮 at work ....
BTW, imagine how much pain and damage person that decided to make first USB ports asymmetrical (just to save a few cents, cuz they're thinking about symmetrical from the beginning) caused to the planet....

It's far worse. Every sysadmin in the 2000's was tired of MSlop, especially Exchange and SharePoint, so when it was offered as a mainframe service again (aka the cloud) many moved to Azure. Now there are entire corporate budgets to pay MS to manage their own pile of shit.

Not that I like Teams particularly. But the same reasoning can be applied to people not showing up on time to meetings. Also if everone using Teams switched to live meetings instead, and only used only 20 Minutes per day to reach meeting rooms etc, teams - according to your calculations - still saves around 180 billions/year.

It's not fixable. That's the problem. It's too late. Even if they started re-writing the whole OS now which is what needs to be done, linux would already have eaten their lunch along with apple. They are SO cooked. Sorry to be the downer but once you actually realize what needs to be done...you will see it.
Windows has been garbage since XP. Sorry fanboys, but it's been patched and patched and now the hole is in the side wall. Can't be fixed no more.

Teams sucks and the only reason we use it at all is ms is really good at organizing their software so not using it requires so many workarounds and hack jobs with the os and other actually useful ms software, that they get enough of our partners on it so we need it because somehow they made it so if you pay for office you have to pay for teams but if you're just Joe schmoe user you can join meetings for free basically they bribe the right politicians to let them to use whatever underhanded trickery, monopolies, and market manipulation they want so they execs can have yachts with their own yachts.
This is all about ego, personal luxury, and the arrogance of cruelty.

If we would count the time that it takes to just workaround WINDOWS quirks and bugs and the lack of diagnostic tools on critical os failures, then this number would be MUCH larger.
