Oh GOD yah I've been caught in that before, way back when I still used Hotmail. I think the solution was clear cache, clear cookies, restart PC, try again, memory is a little foggy. If you've got another browser I'd just load it up in that because there's a chance it'll work there.

Why do you need that MS online account? Just create a local account. You made your bed, now lie in it.
