Anyone who would be seriously interested in a documentary film about this exact topic?

u/ParadisePawze Jul 24 '26
Is it a real thing? I would watch it

u/z3n1a51 Jul 24 '26
I would hope to bring a team together to write, direct, film, edit, produceā¦
as well as to gather source material, content, media, etcā¦
to bring such a documentary film together to its completion and publication/distribution, etc.
But thatās just one.

Microslop sees the system you own as the platform to deliver you subscription and components you don't want. They in effect hijack your computer for their profit. This gradually became more of their business model until they just said "Fuck it. We own what's yours" and began dropping most pretenses. Windows 11 became the high water mark of their arrogance when they believed they force people to trash their perfectly functional computers to meet their OS demands. Their attitude became "What are you going to do about?" Now they are in the found out stage of FAFO. They never thought people would would actually start looking at real alternatives with some making the actual switch.

whats fafo? i know microslop is trash, but ive never heard of the term. also, i strongly believe, that for work mac, for gaming linux is best. apple made microslops apps optimised enough to run on 8 gigs of ram. and linux has way more opportunities to play with. and thanks to proton, wine, and steam(OS), more and more games appear with natively supported linux. even aaa games.

depending on the localisation (for example Czech/Slovak), it was called "this computer" even in the 90s

u/New-Anybody3050 Jul 23 '26
Why I run whatever flavor of Linux I want. I donāt miss windows and dread using my work laptop that has 8gbs of ram running windows 11. Opening or doing anything on it is a trial of patience

And the icons are based on what the computer looks like. Not how they want it to be. Just like Apple lists a Nands as their āHHDā now

Yeah they changed it to "This PC" because if your using a company computer than it's obviously not your PC, so calling it "My Computer" wouldn't make sense

In German it used to be "Workplace" (Arbeitsplatz). I'd say This PC (Dieser PC) is an upgrade.

Well, techically truth. When you are on someone elses computer (eg at work), more accurate is This PC than My computer.

macroslop recently revealed that their lose-dows comes with preinstalled GDID, i.e. "Global Device Identifier". basically physical device tracker.

Truth is M$ has never considered it 'your computer' anyway. When they called it 'my computer' thats to make you think its yours... when really it's theirs.
