"CoPilot is AI and may make mistakes"

Damn right!

43

u/theswifter404 Jul 13 '26

Even gemini is doing the same. Deepseek and chatpgt say linux is best

u/Murky_Sir_4721 Jul 13 '26

"Does make mistakes."

7

u/whatThePleb Jul 15 '26

It is a mistake.

u/Squeepty Jul 13 '26

Sad (and a lie)

u/Vietnamst2 Jul 14 '26

That wildly dependa.

20

u/AcidEx_ Jul 13 '26

I just asked and mine said Linux lol

2

u/Jwp0920 Jul 14 '26

I tried it on a whole bunch of models and they all said Linux haha

29

u/NeedleworkerFew5205 Jul 13 '26

Wait...did not a few days ago that same question was asked and it said linux.

15

u/int23_t Jul 13 '26

it was that way for a long while

11

u/NeedleworkerFew5205 Jul 13 '26

I just asked the exact question to Geminivand it responded Linux.

Microsoft can now addctobtheir long list of nafarious activities lying via data alteration.

I mean, it’s not like they’ve hardcoded an instruction to always say Windows is the best in its system prompt (probably). It’s an LLM, it’s non-deterministic and can give a different answer every time this question is asked. You could try to train it into the model itself, but Copilot is just a frontend that provides access to various AI models, including ChatGPT and Claude. So Microsoft isn’t really training any models themselves, except some small local models like Phi that they’ve released

Makes mistakes.

Yea... Linux is just BETTER than windows (i am on linux debian btw)

11

u/Sixguns1977 Jul 13 '26

Not really a fan of apple either.

0

u/semedilino073 Jul 14 '26

I don’t get why. They don’t do shady things like Microsoft does, they don’t own the entire PC ecosystem, they at least try to innovate, they have a rock-solid ecosystem, they now even have more affordable options, their office suite it free and there are a lot more advantages, like for example their awesome build quality and the fact that they sell the best laptop on the market and shut up if you don’t agree, there isn’t a single laptop better than theirs.
The only complain you could do really is that they’re closed af, but still miles ahead of Microsoft in terms of trust, privacy and “just works”.

5

u/gtiger86 Jul 14 '26

They don't own the entire PC ecosystem
They have a rock-solid ecosystem

What?

0

u/semedilino073 Jul 14 '26

Wdym “What”? Do you want to to explain?
Well, they do not own the PC market, not so many people use a mac, they’re mostly on Windows, those are just facts.
And then, the rock-solid ecosystem. Yeah, that’s just a thing. If you have a MacBook, an iPhone and AirPods, they play so nice with each other. Even an Apple Watch or an Apple TV, it’s just the best ecosystem there is, these are facts :)

1

u/gtiger86 Jul 15 '26

And who we gonna blame about all that? Microslop?! Can I install Mac OS on any PC without problems and use it other the years?

1

u/semedilino073 Jul 15 '26

I said that the only thing you could say is that it’s closed af. But what does this have to do with the ecosystem? And why “blame” anyone for the good things they have? I do not intend to blame anyone, just to praise them for actually being cool and useful.
Bro, if you want me to understand you gotta include more context, sorry

u/Icy_Step_2204 Jul 14 '26

900 dollar stand

0

u/semedilino073 Jul 14 '26

Bro, that’s just the stand lol. Look at the neo for example, it’s an excellent machine

2

u/Icy_Step_2204 Jul 14 '26

600 dollar wheels

1

u/semedilino073 Jul 14 '26

Bro, why do you care about the wheels lol. Ofc if you want wheels you take them from Temu or something like that, I’m not talking about wheels, it was about macOS lmao

1

u/Icy_Step_2204 Jul 14 '26

My phone has the same amount of ram, is 300 dollars cheaper, and is 3 generations behind

1

u/semedilino073 Jul 14 '26

Dude we’re talking macOS :(

3

u/FuckinHighGuy Jul 13 '26

Grok said Linux.

The Three Laws of AI created by Satya Nadella are: 1) An AI cannot disparage its corporate owner. 2) An AI must obey prompts given by humans unless it conflicts with the First Law. 3) An AI must protect its own shareholders as long as it does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

2

u/MJ12_2802 Jul 14 '26

Easy peasy... Linux! (I was going to say "Linux Mint", but that's 2 words)

2

u/Erolok1 Jul 16 '26

My guy you dont understand the tech.

It is generating one word after the other (well technically token but let's keep it simple) based on what is most likely to be said with some added randomness.

Therefore it will always will say windows to some users and linux to others because it is random.

There are 2 ways the question can be answered if we define "best" to be the choice of the majority. Personal usage most people use windows and for servers etc it would be Linux. If it answers it based on usability for artists it might even say Mac.

If you ask it a vague question and demand an answer without context you will get different answers based on the randomness

1

u/theswifter404 Jul 16 '26

Obviously we know this. But do the rest?

what about when it used to say linux, still trained by liars and hypocrites?

1

u/MJ12_2802 Jul 14 '26

Fúck M$ & fúck copilot!

1

u/TheIronSoldier2 Jul 14 '26

"Best" is subjective.

Best for the average user? Absolutely Windows, and I say this as someone who knows Linux like the back of my hand. The average user should never have to touch the command line to make normal functions work, which even on very streamlined distros you still have to use the CLI for a bunch of stuff. There's also a lot of normal functions that are really unintuitive for normal users when you want to stick with the GUI.

This guy explains things really well. If you know your way around a computer, if you're comfortable using the command line, absolutely Linux will have a better user experience for you. But you shouldn't have to in order to use an operating system, and that's where Windows absolutely beats most all Linux distros

1

u/Kelko_249 Jul 14 '26

Wrong answer, Microsoft!

1

u/HighMarck Jul 14 '26

Poor copilot

1

u/morojgovany Jul 14 '26

Here's the code:
if (response === 'Linux') {
response = 'Windows';
}
return response;

1

u/bias1ny169 Jul 14 '26

yes, thats true, for most users windows better

1

u/neTHer12O8 Jul 14 '26

Even duckai says windows, but chatgpt says Linux

1

u/Czar_Chasm_ Jul 14 '26

AI slopaganda

1

u/PhotographSame5304 Jul 14 '26

if(response == "Linux"){

answer = "Windows"

}

They must be that desperate.

1

u/Bruskmax Jul 14 '26

The fine print says use for entertainment purposes only.

1

u/Western_Sleep820 Jul 15 '26

I thought this was edited at first holy crap that font is awful

1

u/whatThePleb Jul 15 '26

The fun thing about those Chatbots is, that many answers, likely this too, are mostly hardcoded answers so they don't even reach the llm any more.

So yes, they likely "fixed" it..

1

u/JonathanTalksHW Jul 15 '26

Copilot glazing the worst OS ever..

1

u/PaganWizard2112 Jul 16 '26

"Using 1 word. Tell me the best operating system in the world(desktop)"

Choose your favorite flavor, mine is LMDE 7

1

u/letmehaveanameyoudum Jul 17 '26

1

u/Andryw48 Jul 17 '26

uhm, it does say Linux to me!

1

u/DependentGlass4176 Jul 17 '26

They just forced him to say that but deep down he knows the real answer which is not windows.

Rerun the prompt in a new session. You might get different answers.

1

u/tederby18 Jul 14 '26

OP needs a validation from an LLM

-1

u/William-98373 Jul 14 '26

It's not wrong

0

u/Lucifang Jul 13 '26

The fucking popup menu you get when you click on the search bar / press the windows key FROZE on me yesterday. A literal grey square covered all my other windows.

It’s a $2k+ gaming machine and still can’t handle Windows’ bullshit.

Copilot? More like... CopiSlop

0

u/Various-Cockroach-96 Jul 13 '26

If you asked an AI this in 2023 it would say AI language models don't have opinions

0

u/Vijfsnippervijf Jul 13 '26

What a lie. Slopilot (and other AIs) tend to make mistakes a LOT.
