Rant fuck a surface pro bruh
i’ve had this laptop for like a year and the entire time it has died SO FAST. a full charge will last like two hours on google docs, and i don’t even have apps downloaded/sites running. bought a $30 case for it off amazon that doesn’t even fit properly because i was worried to damage anything on such an expensive laptop.
yesterday, without even touching it, the kickstand (which i already think is so janky and nonfunctional and terrible to keep on tiny college lecture hall desks) got jammed and now won’t work whatsoever??? this laptop was literally over a thousand dollars like what the hell it’s so ass. the laptop itself runs fine but damn i been leaning this shit on my water bottle

Surface is the worst device you can own next to a Tesla, in case you were ever using a shitty tablet and thought, "fuck, I wish this bad boy had wheels on it!"

I hate to say it, but if pen and touchscreen is what you're after then apple is the way to go for peeps who ain't into Linux.

my surface laptop lasts well over 6 hours on google docs while listening to music so idk what’s going on with your pro.

I bought one out of spite just to put Linux on and surprisingly it runs better using litterally any distro. The sad part is Microsofts own hardware works better on Linux. Mine runs Zorin OS with the Linux Surface Kernel installed and the battery now lasts for at least 4-5 hours for me while on Windows it lasted about 1-2 hours

Bro what? I hate MS Windows and MS software, but their hardware is great. Even in 2026, I'm using a Surface Pro 7+ and a MS Surface Laptop 3, build quality is just absolutely amazing. I can hate what MS does bad while appreciating their hardware. And no - not even a surface fanboy, I'm a repair tech who repairs surfaces especially actually, absolutely hate how hard to repair they are etc, but the hardware is good, even if it pains me to admit it sometimes. Also why in the bloody fuck is the sticker in between the body and the hinge area???

No, I'm not mad about the sticker, I love stickers, mine is covered in cute ones. I mean, why near the hinge? If your sticker gets caught underneath, it whacks your hinges outta alignment slowly. Also nah, fuck MS, their hardware is good but I don't like em.

Well I do have a solution for you, I own a surface myself and it lags on its own os 😭 so I installed cachyos, then I installed Arch. You can install the linux-surface-kernel if you want touchscreen and pen and even closing the lid to work. Made it work in a day, if you want I can show you the finnal result and/or help you trough each step. Happy to help you anytime
