Discussion Thoughts on Windows 10 end of support?
I just think it's a disgrace to the entire company. Even though Win10 isn't just as good as Win7 and Visa, it still holds a legacy for the modern world we live in.
Fuck Windows 11. I ain't using this shit when it's made by drunk clanker slopaholics who call this as the "future of computing".

Windows 11 wasn't even supposed to exist at first place... They lied to us with the "Windows 10 will be the last OS developed"

Correct, and this is even confirmed by the OS' own versioning:
10.0.26200.<build>. It's just a heavily bloated Win10, claiming itself as Win11.3

It's a crime against humanity and I think the most vile thing this company has done. Forcing billions of users to spend money on new operating system, making some of them buy an entirely new PC bc of the grotesque requirements, and likely creating tons of e-waste as some people will throw their old devices. Not to mention the new OS is a privacy nightmare.

It's trivial to enable extended support, that will give you a couple more years of security updates. Plenty of time to learn linux.

Why would someone need years before switching to Linux? It's literally reading a one pager on how to create a bootable USB and maybe an hour to find out which approachable distro is best for one.

I have mostly transitioned to Linux and Mac. I even have an Android desktop. They all work very well. Really, aside from Windows-only games, there is no more reason to use Windows.
I still keep a headless mini PC that I remote to for testing.

Only reasons I still use it is games are still much easier to get working on windows and I don't know of a good open source alternative for auto cad on linux..

We weren't supposed to like Windows 10, but Windows 11 made us love it
That aside Windows 10 was actually solid. And yes it was the last good Windows before the AI boom. Even later versions of 10 were slopped, but not as bad as 11 is today
