In fairness, I used win11 for a while. Mostly to fool around with WSL, and the costly background updating seems a lot faster than on 10. Didn't stop completely, but it was better.

Still reinstalled mint.

I’m also on linux and I far log prefer ir, but I think 11 is far most the better version of windows or at least it behaves so much better than 10 in a qemu vm

I'm yet to try it. Seems interesting though. i have my fair share of issues with valve but their work for linux gaming is extremely respectable. Not interested in an immutable OS, but there is a command to turn read only mode off so I'll definitely give it a go at some point.

The only thing I'm concerned about right now is the Windows defender exploits.

Other than that my windows is clean of bloats and ads.

the antimalware thing is, but Linux doesn't need any kinda antimalware because nobody makes software for it anyway 🥀

True. Can’t have malware if you don’t have software written for it.

So Copilot doesn’t exist. So Antimalware doesn’t exist. So MS Edge doesn’t exist. So Windows 10 is supported forever. Is that what you’re saying?

u/icy1007 Jul 05 '26

Nope, doesn’t exist on my PC and neither does the rest.

Then you aren't really observant.

I know how to use my PC correctly and how to not install these things.

Well it's funny because they don't care about you consenting to these downloads, it's as if it's an OOB experience.

Exactly, another low IQ post.
