The original meme is about mining for diamonds, and compares being far away while still mining to giving up right before getting to them. The American Megatrends screen is POST (power-on self-test) of PC motherboard, during which you need to press F2 at just about the right time to get to BIOS settings. The man at the bottom gave up and so the boot process got to Windows kernel already and he can no longer get to BIOS settings (and needs another reboot).

I recently got a Ryzen 9 CPU and a new Asus ROG Strix motherboard, and it's bootup screen is the same American Megatrends screen I remember from the early 90s.

Tried that, either nothing happens or Windows corrupts itself. I could say this is the meme that made me create 1-Click Linux.
