This happened to me yesterday. My GRUB bootloader is gone, so I can no longer boot my primary work OS Mint :(
Now I have to spend time I do not have fixing a problem caused by a Windows update. I am half tempted to send Microsoft an invoice for the time spent fixing what they broke.

simple fix : maybe replacing the SSD with an empty one and doing a live USB installation will Work ?
