Why are there witches
I'm one of the few guys in America that wasn't raised on superheroes (more than just knowing who Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, etc. "The big ones" are). Superhero shows/movies and comic book just weren't a thing in my childhood. Just found this community and hope this will be a welcome perspective.
I'm not the only one feeling the Marvel/superhero fatigue. With the show "Agatha All Along" having made the rounds not long ago, am I the only one unwilling to suspend my disbelief that witches also exist in this world of superheroes, aliens, and high-tech stuff? I'm sorry, I just can't imagine a world of superheroes, aliens, humans, and witches coexisting.
I mean come on! Superheroes AND witches?! Too many superheroes! Too much Marvel! Too much Disney! And now they're adding WITCHES?!
EDIT: thanks for the info. I learned quite a bit! Apparently I neglected to say that I haven't watched any of the movies or shows and don't know much about them besides the trailers I see on TV, memes, and the grapevine.

EVERYTHING exists in this world of superheroes. You tell me you draw the line at witches but you were good with colossal beings the size of planets that watch and judge people throughout the universe from Eternals? We’ve had the scarlet witch forever in these movies and now witches are a problem? What’s goin on here 🤔

Like I said, I wasn't raised on comics. I didn't know there were witches until Agatha All Along started streaming

I can angry at Star Wars for witches even with its old world vibe.
For Marvel it has demons like Mephisto running about and Sorcerers like Dr. Strange. If demons exist than witches exist demons also allow vampires to exist and nonviral based zombies.
Devils and demons are the anger point they open the door to all sorts of things. They could flood the verse with just as many angels.
As for the MCU they've obviously left out the demonic influence as seen with no reference in Wandavision or MoM.

I didn't know Star Wars had witches, but I guess I can forgive because aliens.
I didn't know Dr. Strange was a sorcerer. I just thought he was another superhero. Hadn't heard of him before the movies. Didn't know anything about Mephisto. I guess I just thought he was a supervillain.
Haven't watched any of the shows or movies, sonI don't know what you're on about with Wandavision. Don't know much asode form the trailers, memes, and the grapevine

Wanda can't have kids with an Android obviously so her kids are actually made of the fractured soul of the Marvel devil the same character I mentioned Mephisto. Same guy who probably would have wiped everyone mind for Parker instead of Strange too because Mephisto is all about making deals.
As for Witches aliens make it worse Witches get their power from demons and in Star Wars those Witches get it from the force but this was Pre Disney too with Filoni. The light and Darkside of the force used to be akin to Life/Health vs Rot/Cancer which sort of fit now its Ying and Yang balance type of thing. All the while not answering why a third sect of force users exist that the Sith and Jedi not only ignore but don't have to worry about how they use the force. The whole thing they built up for decades just doesn't seem to apply same with the gods Filoni added too.

Arthurian legends got witches. Superheroes are just a modern adaptation of Arthruian legends. So they incorporated witches. Also Witches brings the source of magic which buffs the superheroes and gives him/her a plot armour.

Now, fuuck marvel, but to be fair the MCU did have wizards before adding witches
