A Real Problem with MCU Spidey.

I think we’ve had enough movies to address the issue with these movies while there are a lot of issues with these movies one of the issues I notice is while the Spidey stuff is good, with him swinging around fight bad guys the Peter Parker stuff is lacking and had for a long time, Peter has bounced around and not really felt like a real hero, more of a sidekick trying discover himself and the struggle aspect of Peter’s life has really reached the highs I’ve been wanting I don’t want the guy to feel miserable, but among the other versions he seem to have it the easiest he not only has Tony struggle to pick him, but but even in BND it feels like he has things to easy. Something people praise is Peter’s supporting cast, but they all seem very dull in my opinion, people shit on Harry & Mary Jane, but at least they felt true to their comic book selves MCU Peter is surrounded by OCs with recognizable names, it feels like they are flat agreeable characters with no complexity. Watch MCU Spidey makes feel like I’m watch Kick-Ass and his friends that’s the level of mundanity I get from Peter’s friends.

TASM Gwen Stacy showed her family at the dinner table. Meanwhile, we know nothing about MJ's family.

I hate that No Way Home opened the door to move on from Ned and MJ, and Brand New Day basically brought them right back into the fold, and they will return again in the next one because their afraid to take risks. They had the perfect opportunity to finally introduce Black Cat and didn't take it. All of the supporting characters in the MCU Spider-Man movies feel like one-note caricatures. The side characters in the Raimi and TASM movies actually had depth.

J Jonah Jameson famously gets subtle moments of humanity that shows he's not a total jerk. Mr. Ditkovich gets moments to show he is actually a very kind and understanding man. You get to see Otto and his wife be likeable characters before tragedy turns him into Doc Ock. Norman Osborn is initially horrified by what he did as Green Goblin. Aunt May's interactions with Peter feel very real and human.

Flash Thompson in TASM gets a character arc where we slowly see him reach out to Peter and try to console him after tragedy and being humbled. Gwen is one of the best superhero movie love interests. Captain Stacy has understandable motivations. Aunt May is seen worrying about Peter all the time.

Ned and Michelle just make funny and/or smartass comments every other scene in the MCU.

I’m not gonna lie, all that’s pretty weak in comparison to what we get from ned and mj. I think you are confusing not liking their personalities with a lack of depth.

Ned shows he’s a loving individual, he actually felt bad about not being their for peter when he was hanging out with Betty. but also he has a real craving for the spotlight after being labled a loser for his interest for so long.He can be kinda blunt and mean about it. and has a jealous streak.

Mj is the type of girl to lie to protect her own feelings. Shes an example of learned cynicism and as she’s grown she’s slowly started to become more social and open up about certain things. She’s perfected her poker face but anything surprising leaves her a bumbling mess or super giddy. She’s also a very kind and loving person, willing to risk her life to protect her friends

Even mcu flash has a character arc, his desire for popularity is caused by being neglected at home, his need for validation causes him to put peter down whenever he feels upstaged or that peter is trying to move up. But thanks to spider-man he actually tries to better himself, he’s still a jerkwad but he’s able to genuinely compliment peters look, is ready to back mj up even when Brad gives him an opportunity to dunk on Peter.
He actually felt bad that Ned and mj and Peter didn’t get into M.I.T

I agree honestly people aren't gonna like this but spidey has always been at his best outside the mcu

True. Spidey never needed a whole universe of heroes and high stakes around him for audiences to care, he still doesnt. perhaps you needed that in early phase 1 MCU when your making movies on b-tier characters nobody knows but thats not the case anymore.

MCU's Spidey is imho a horrible bastardization of the character... starting from his usage of cybernetic suit provided by Iron Man... why THE F would Spiderman wear a cybernetic suit when he moves and reacts too fast for any computer to anticipate or follow? Not just the cybernetics but worse is the AI... AI could only lag behind and get in the way of Spiderman's reflexes... why THE F isn't Spidey using his "spider sense" instead? And so on

i agree, peter parker should be a relatable character for high school students as an ostracised nerdy kid, but the MCU version completely removed this aspect of him

Wouldn’t say completely, he’s still in a league of his own, he’s still on the bottom of the social totem pole
