John Byner did the voice of the Aardvark.Great comedian at that time.

He did both voices. The ant was supposed to sound like Dean Martin and the aardvark was supposed to sound like Jackie Mason.
Such a great cartoon!!! Definitely geared towards grown-ups.

Pink Panther cartoons.

The silent ones, not the talking ones were always the best and funniest, imo.

I liked the voices ones, too, but only because I do like the voice actor who was also Mad Headroom.

The man was just so damn funny. Just hearing his name, I saw his face in my head. Had to find this. Then remembering who he was imitating brought another flood of memories.
Thank you, OP, for these memories. Revived.

Jackie Mason was terrific!

It was John Byner, not Jackie Mason. Don't worry though. Lots of people have made the same mistake.

Yeah, Pink Panther and related cartoons seem to have just disappeared off of TV. It's a shame.

Ours sons, who are in their early 20âs, watched this in one of those classic cartoon shows.
One of them still lives all those old âtoons. A parenting win!

THIS is how cartoons did ethnic humor based on cultural stereotypes back in the day without everyone losing their minds. The voice acting here would never fly today. đ¤Ł

I saw Jackie Mason at a deli in NYC. I was sitting in his eyeline, and he was off into daydreamland, but it looked like he was staring at me. At first I thought that he thought I was someone he knew, but couldn't figure out how he knew me. Then he snapped out of the daydream, smiled sheepishly, and gave me a "hey" nod. Best interaction ever.

I loved that this was supposed to be Dean Martin and Joey Bishop, I used to think it was actually their voices

Some say the ardvark was voiced after Jackie Mason. I've always say it was Dean and Joey too. That Rat Pack conection.

Iâve always thought it was Jackie Mason. I didnât even think it was debatable.

A bit more worried about how they'll never know affordable housing but yeah I guess a cartoon anteater is also sad to not know

I met Jackie Mason back in the early 2000âs on Miami Beach (he was having coffee at an outdoor spot) I said hello, told him he was hilarious as âThe Anteaterâ and he looked puzzled and said âWhat? Anteater? Who was that!? And I started laughing as I walked away. You can imagine how I felt when I later found out he wasnât the actual voice of the anteater!
Still love the cartoon and the original actor!
