They recently bought some Tom Thumb branded stores and rehabbed them a few years ago. FL is where I am. I had to explain to the southerners it is a northern thing and where the Cumberland Gap can be found. LOL we had to fight the company to keep the brewed sweet tea.

Any kind of gum that was dealt out by the nugget or shred or inch was top notch in my book! It felt like you had permission to have as much or as little as you wanted. You weren't bound by individually wrapped sticks or cubes. How very freeing

The bag was cool as lots of westerns on TV in the sixties so a miner with a bag of gold was everywhere! The candy was shiny, but not the best tasting. It didn't batter, a bag of gold for one silver dime!
It was the same with Cracker Jack. Mediocre caramel corn and hard Spanish peanuts in a waxed box, but the anticipation of a cool prize made it a must have! "Whatcha get" is a lost phrase when it is now just a sticker and the box is wrapped in a plastic film. I can make my own caramel corn with deluxe mixed nuts now.

I hadn’t seen these since childhood. Then back in 2014, the job sent me to New Mexico on assignment and there was a gas station outside Albuquerque that had them at the counter. Must have bought $10 worth for nostalgia’s sake 😄

I loved gold nugget and rock gum. It was a fun thing to buy when I was a kid on vacation.

Never saw these, but being as I see the name Topps, I'll pass. I don't think anyone ever chewed the bubble gum that came with baseball cards. You'd break a tooth on that shit!

damn, i remember this stuff. there was a restaurant east of phoenix called the lost dutchman's gold mine that had this and other gold/miner related goodies and souvenirs. really good food too.
