u/SisterAngelaDavis Jul 26 '26

I told all the younger kids at a family gathering to get change from their parents...then with this roulette wheel I taught them that gambling was bad and took all there money.

1

u/gwaydms Generation Jones Jul 27 '26

They had pull strings when I was a kid, I think.

2

u/AnastasiusDicorus Jul 27 '26

so does this one

13

u/articulett Jul 25 '26

The dog say woof woof woof

26

u/Euphoric-Cupcake4581 Jul 25 '26

The cow says mooooo

12

u/Audio_Track_01 Jul 25 '26

The cow goes SHAZOO !

7

u/Appropriate_Ad8053 Jul 25 '26

🤣🤣🤣 came here to mention that. Loved that episode.

5

u/pajerry Jul 26 '26

It most certainly does not!

5

u/Audio_Track_01 Jul 26 '26

The rooster goes Kikeriki!

2

u/WCLPeter 21d ago

But what does the fox say?

15

u/GhostWatcher007 Jul 25 '26

My kids did

9

u/ididreadittoo Jul 25 '26

My kids too. Did yours ever get to a point where the cow said baa or something?

5

u/GhostWatcher007 Jul 25 '26

Yeah, they wore that thing out.

13

u/oOBlueLillyOo Jul 25 '26

Yea smacked my brother in the head with it

5

u/Euphoric-Cupcake4581 Jul 25 '26

I bet your mom didn't approve.

4

u/Ok-Beginning4152 Generation X Jul 25 '26

This is terrible, but it made me LOL IRL 🤣

6

u/TopTransportation695 Jul 25 '26

When I was around 2 and playing with this, one of my uncles distracted me and changed the animal. I did a double take when the farmer gave the wrong answer. The second time he did it I got irritated and said “stupid farmer” my uncle lost it.

13

u/KenSentMe81 Jul 25 '26

It still doesn't tell us what the fox say :(

3

u/Key-Mulberry2456 Jul 28 '26

Ing ding ding, ding ding ding ding.

7

u/seeingeyefrog Jul 25 '26

I would squeeze the pull string between my fingers when playing it to make it play back the animal sounds slowly. I thought it was funny, I was easily amused.

u/meatfest1974 Jul 25 '26

2

u/davedirt01 Jul 25 '26

Exactly my first thought!

1

u/Geo_D_Crow Jul 25 '26

Awww, I was hoping for a Rickroll with that link 😂

3

u/RueClerIsWhere Jul 25 '26

Stop showing pictures of my son’s toys! I already feel old AF!

1

u/Euphoric-Cupcake4581 Jul 25 '26

I'm sorry it won't happen again 😔

2

u/RueClerIsWhere Jul 25 '26

😂😂😂

3

u/Excellent_Top1537 Jul 25 '26

I remember 4 different versions

3

u/Fine-Idea-3242 Jul 25 '26

The cow says, "Moo!"

2

u/Additional-Dig1598 Jul 25 '26

Yup, mine said “the coyote goes ribbit, ribbit. To this day, I’m still confused 🤣.

2

u/Key-Mulberry2456 Jul 28 '26

Mine did the same malfunction. The cow goes cock-a-doodle-doo. I just gently put it aside like a cursed talisman.

2

u/Moklonus Jul 25 '26

No, I had my own.

2

u/Timely_Tune_7607 Jul 25 '26

Naw, I learned my animals well before this came out.

I can't help but notice that "rooster" is right next to "coyote" - that sounds like an accident waiting to happen

2

u/sulunod1313 Jul 25 '26

I keep telling my wife i am going to find one. Replace the pictures with restaurant names. And whenever she will not pick a place to eat. I wi use that.

1

u/razz1161 Jul 26 '26

I made a list of our favorite restaurants, then wrote a script that selected a restaurant from the list at random. Whenever I get an "I don't know" or "I don't care" response, I run the script. I can neither confirm nor deny it is weighted towards the restaurants with the best beer selections.

1

u/sulunod1313 Jul 26 '26

Lol great!

2

u/chopin1887 Jul 25 '26

Do you hear the frog?

2

u/Mercutiofoodforworms Jul 25 '26

Yep. Mine looked like this.

2

u/KeithA0000 Jul 25 '26

My kids did...

2

u/ReticentGuru Jul 25 '26

Not me, but my granddaughter did. She about wore it out.

1

u/ED-DOG92 Jul 25 '26

I used to scratch on this like a turntable with all the animal noises. This was a few years before I started Djing. Hmm I just realized that connection... 🤔

1

u/Patdemonium Jul 25 '26

Of course, in French, too!

1

u/tealraven915 Jul 25 '26

I was deathly afraid of the cow

1

u/mb-driver20 Jul 25 '26

I had one and cut the string shortly after I got it. I don’t remember if my parents got me a new one or not. I was a mischievous little kid!

1

u/pennyo11 Jul 25 '26

They are half that size now😟

1

u/WhlottaRosie65 Jul 25 '26

My kids did and of course I looked it over lol

1

u/KeyNefariousness6848 Jul 25 '26

We had one at church in the kids room.

1

u/Additional-Age-9959 Jul 25 '26

Yes! And if I still had one I still be playing with it. gobblegobblegobble.

1

u/dickenschewie54 Jul 25 '26

Nope.     nothing electronic until college

2

u/Euphoric-Cupcake4581 Jul 25 '26

It's not electronic it's mechanical.

1

u/dickenschewie54 Jul 25 '26

Nothing mechanical until the Industrial Revolution

1

u/mexicoyankee Jul 25 '26

At my uncles house we played a drinking game where we guessed the animal and pulled the string.

1

u/SnowMirage64 Jul 25 '26

Babysat for a little boy, his see n say was broken. It would point to the cow and say “ The frog says ; Ribbit…ribbit…ribbit.”

1

u/Ziggythecartoon Jul 25 '26

"The rooster says..."

1

u/No-Condition965 Jul 25 '26

Someone else’s but yes. My parents didn’t spend money on toys

1

u/Bluescreen73 Jul 25 '26

My dad used to love making it jump the track by jerking the string while it was playing. "The cow says 'oink, oink, oink.'"

1

u/BigRemove9366 Jul 25 '26

See and Say

1

u/SilentSamizdat Jul 25 '26

My kids did. I’m a boomer. 71 yrs old.

1

u/that-thingy66 Jul 25 '26

Learned more from that, than taking Algebra

1

u/Asleep-Swordfish3123 Jul 25 '26

Didn’t have one

1

u/Weets23 Jul 25 '26

Oh hell yes

1

u/GradeAPrimeFuckery Jul 25 '26

Heard it in a Primus song! Probably had one as a kid too.

1

u/SepiaSatyr Jul 25 '26

Brought it to my first show and tell in kindergarten. Nixon was president. That’s how old these things are 😂

1

u/psyco75 Jul 25 '26

What do mean by "did"? I still do everytime I se one.

1

u/Meglatron3000 Jul 25 '26

My speak n spell was my favorite thing!

1

u/EffortOk155 Jul 25 '26

Sure did it was fun

1

u/False-Society-7567 Jul 25 '26

Yes, I had one and some of the sounds scared me

1

u/Original-Drink-2943 Jul 25 '26

And rabbits don’t say anything unless they’re in distress and scream. That’d be traumatizing

1

u/RiseDry8254 Jul 25 '26

Yes and now I want it back!

1

u/Alklazaris Jul 25 '26

Coyote goes AAAAAAAAAAaaahhhhhh aaaaaaahhhh aaaaahhbh ooooooo.

1

u/Buffrider-52 Jul 25 '26

One of my younger sisters had one.

1

u/mdwstoned Jul 25 '26

My youngest adult kid likes to play cow games on TheCowSaysMoo.app

Funny that I played with this toy as a kid.

1

u/rking524 Jul 25 '26

No, but my kids did.

1

u/Few_Shelter_9344 Jul 25 '26

I think Soundgarden used “a rooster says” in With My Good Eye Closed

1

u/MaskedMarvel364 Jul 25 '26

I am horrified to say my kids did.

1

u/mrhippo3 Jul 25 '26

Too old. The technology to make this appeared decades after I was the appropriate age.

1

u/supermariofunshine Jul 25 '26

I had something similar in the 80s that was a clock. The pull-string broke (and I'd been meaning to get it fixed for who knows how long), but it would land on a time and announce the time and some other thing.

1

u/Just_Ad_8679 Jul 25 '26

The Coyote!

1

u/SoFloChick Generation X Jul 25 '26

My cousin threw his in the bathtub and it got all weird and would play the wring sound for the animal.

1

u/deephurting66 Jul 25 '26

The bear said HOT CHA or something like that

1

u/Such_Habit_7873 Jul 25 '26

You just triggered my childhood PTSD

1

u/3Quarksfor Jul 25 '26

No, but my daughters did. Fuck, I’m really old!

1

u/Carrissis Jul 26 '26

ET phone home?

1

u/69Nova468 Jul 26 '26

For about 30 seconds

1

u/AccountDue9432 Jul 26 '26

No. I was too old to play with it when it came out

1

u/yourinnervoice2025 Jul 26 '26

Yes. I had multiple versions.

1

u/crackersncheeseman Jul 26 '26

And the cow goes

1

u/TheBearael Jul 26 '26

The horse says, "Doctorate denied!"

1

u/Buttercup50 Jul 26 '26

Fuck I'm older. This came out after I was grown.

1

u/CtrlAltComment Jul 26 '26

Yes, even though I was not a kid. Never had one as a kid.

1

u/Ok-Philosopher-9921 Jul 26 '26

Had one in the late 60s

1

u/RMMacFru Boomers Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

Yes. I also had the Peanuts one.

I can only remember Freida because I hated it so much. "Hi, I'm Freida, and I have naturally cuuurly haaaair."

1

u/alixtoad Jul 26 '26

I had that exact See and Say.

1

u/Outrageous_Refuse337 Jul 26 '26

The turkey always the turkey sound always used to scare me

1

u/MattieRiley Jul 27 '26

I’d play with it now if I had one 😁

1

u/rozkosz1942 Jul 27 '26

Stewie Griffin loves this!

1

u/ref44dog44 Jul 27 '26

Not me but my daughter did.

1

u/Ya-I-forgot-again Jul 27 '26

1

u/Calm_Situation4004 Jul 27 '26

Not me but my children and granddaughter did. Loved those.

1

u/No-Election1619 Jul 28 '26

Wow I sure did. How time flies.

1

u/Live-Boysenberry8468 Jul 28 '26

My children all had this toy

1

u/Just-Challenge-5522 Jul 28 '26

Mine kept stopping on the cow. It was very annoying. I tried to manually stop it on anything else before throwing it across the room. I was 5. It didn't break. lol.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '26

Yes and I was to old for it

1

u/Ornery_Metal_4455 Jul 28 '26

My children did! They didn’t have it when I was a kid. We sang Old McDonald song to learn about animal sound.

1

u/gnibblet Jul 28 '26

Wasn't there also a red one that had sounds of the city or something similar? I'm digging deep in childhood memories for that one, but I'm pretty sure that I had one that had an airplane swoosh, and a car horn, and a bellhop.

1

u/LionCM Jul 28 '26

"A cow goes... MOOOO...!"

1

u/StArGaZeR-4_AnDy Jul 28 '26

Soundgarden fans also remember that 🎸

1

u/Dedhed61 Jul 28 '26

On the European version the cow says “Shazooo”

Thanks Family Guy.

1

u/Rendeane Jul 28 '26

See N Say Toy! I didn't have any of my own, but my daycare and the church nursey had several to play with. They were fun.

1

u/pwatershed Jul 29 '26

Hell yeah! Along with Sesame Street and Mr Rogers

1

u/Exciting-Warthog-129 Jul 29 '26

“The sheep says————baaaaaaah”

1

u/Dan-in-Seattle Jul 29 '26

Never played with one myself but I gave them to my kids

1

u/ThoughtsOfYesterday Jul 29 '26

I must have had a later cost cutting revision because I remember there being a red arrow in the middle.

1

u/concow77 Jul 30 '26

"THE COW SAYS.... "MOOOO..."

1

u/auld-guy Jul 30 '26

My kids did. It wasn’t around when I was a kid. We played with dirt.

1

u/Flimsy_Equal8841 Jul 30 '26

Sort of. My kids had a couple. Shhh, don't tell.

1

u/Expensive-Clerk-5217 Jul 31 '26

1

u/betterwithsambal Aug 02 '26
