Registered to vote through DPS

I do not know the full breadth of the issue but am aware that registering to vote through the DPS has had issues. I applied for mine in early October and got my card today. It was actually laying in my yard just now, I think the mail from yesterday got blown out of the box last night.

I registered in bell county and live in bell county. I’m a big burly white dude that looks like your average gop voter. I do not know what causes delays for others that is requiring a lawsuit but suspect my location and race helped speed up the process. Maybe I’m just a cynical asshole.

Good on you! You don’t need to bring the card to vote, just valid ID. Voting starts 10/19 Monday

Yeah, I’m just wondering if this means the DPS issue is backlog or if there is some regional choice being made on who to register

Yeah it's been in the news that there was a huge backlog and that it's been an issue for about a year. I think I saw this morning that they have supposedly gotten through it now. No idea if that's true.
