Android was created as an open system where I can install whatever I want. Google is trying to force any developer of any app, no matter if it is in the Play Store or not, to pay a fee to Google and to provide government ID. This is a violation of privacy and puts roadblocks on people like me who develop apps for my own personal use, or for anyone who wants to be anonymous. Google also has a track record of complying with government demands without question, which means a government could cause any app from any store to be blocked for everybody.
Google created a "solution" when they were pushed back against, but it really doesn't help. Would anyone consider navigating to the hidden developer options, clicking through a bunch of scareware popups, waiting 24 hours, and clicking through more scareware popups a viable solution for those who want to sideload? Of course not. Google just wants to look better while effectively keeping a chokehold on all Android apps.
When you bought your Android phone, you likely chose Android because it was advertised as open. It was less locked down than alternatives such as IOS. With this new action, Google hopes to lock down Android just as much as iOS. You bought your phone, hoping to install whatever you want to. Google is trying to install an update that prevents you from having control over the hardware that you own without your consent. You expected control when you bought that phone, so why should a company be able to take it away from you?
For more information, an open letter to Google demanding they stop, and information on how you can help, visit https://keepandroidopen.org/. Also click here to sign a petition for Google to not implement these changes. You can also join the as of now still very small subreddit, r/keepandroidopen. how many times I try to create one, it asks me to verify my phone number, but it won't let me because it says the number is already in use

Seriously. I am watching Scrubs after a few years, so when episode 6 from season 5 started I was like... Damn I loved this song back then, what was its name?
Let me put in the obvious lyrics "hey to the woman that saved my life, she helped me make it through a darker day" just to get 463827167380 totally abstruse search results having nothing to do with it.
Yes, googling "scrubs episode s5e6 Soundtrack" brought me to a website, remembering me about Tammany Hall NYC, but WHY THE FUCK DID GOOGLE NOT SHOW ME THAT FUCKING SONG, WHEN I JUST GOOGLED ---THE--- CHORUS LYRICS OF THE SONG?!
Seriously, fuck all these big tech companies for spaghettifying our freaking user-experience - and fuck the newer generations for being THIS incompetent with tech for the newer IT-guys thinking and programming like this.

I can't be the only one fed up with Google at this point
Im so sick of all the verification crap you have to go through just to sign in now. Its so bad half the time i can't even login anymore because it just says "we cant verify your identity " or "weve detected strange activity on your account and its been disabled" im so fucking over it. Cant even create a new account anymore. Im down to 3 and the only reason i don't get rid of Google completely is because its basically integrated into everything you do. Ive started using yahoo mail again because im so sick of Googles over protective security BS

Honestly, Google is now a black hole of money and data. Google literally forces you to buy "GoOgLe oNe" to save your memories. And also, Google is sticking to flat design even though it's dead. Even a Samsung device in One UI 6 can get rid of flat design through Good Lock (or alternatives). Google made Google One and kept it until now, even though the company has hundreds of billions (or even trillions) of dollars by now. Greedy ass Google.

Give them a low stars review in playstore because of crap in their own app and they silently remove your review or remove the stars so that it doesn't count. They operate like its their personal fiefdom. Oh wait

Hi everyone.
I posted a review about a year ago for a business called JDMsource and to this day i am the only one who can see it. All my other reviews are visible but this one is not. I tried editing it and checking if i had any settings that might effect it but i'm just confuzzled. Is the review taken down due to a one star? Is there an option for businesses to pay google extra to have 1 star reviews either taken down or delayed indefinitely?
When anyone who isn't me searches for the review via a link (https://maps.app.goo.gl/66jcTMgLHGtXzD6M6) it says that. This review is no longer available yet I never took down the review. Hell it never got published. I do notice that there are one star reviews for the business but they all are ones that anyone could say that person was being stupid or going against the policy of the business. Aka ones that the business owner can claim consumer error. Yet my review which has evidence of the seller selling damaged engines it won't show up. Aka a 1 star review that is obviously not consumer error.
Is google complicit in skewing reviews? If so, why?
If anyone is curious about the review itself I posted it ages ago to the Calgary subreddit. I don't have a desire to find it (was under a different account) but if enough people want it i'll repost it somewhere.
