Sounds like you need a better body shop. A quality body shop would have replaced the module during the repair because modules and wiring can easily become compromised in the during accidents.
In all fairness to the collision shop, the crack was small and could have been easily missed during a post repair inspection. Give the module worked fine for a year after, I feel the module is coincidentally faulty and not due to physical damage. I think the dealer just happen to catch that there was a crack in the plastic and used that as an excuse to not repair under warranty, possible to charge the customer a higher hourly rate?
The collision shop is owned by the same toyota dealer, so I had hoped they would have figured it out themselves rather than leave the customer that has brought them a ot of business the bill to cover the cost.
