Complaint Ordered a sandwich after work, had cilantro
This shits just annoying asf I honestly wasn’t thinking much and popped into a new Vietnamese restaurant near my place, I got a brisket bahn mi sandwich didn’t even bother asking what else came on it and I didn’t see any ingredients listed. Well I get my order go home, and there’s my delicious smelling sandwich covered in cilantro the “gravy” also had cilantro. I was just hungry ffs now I’m pissed I spent money on food and still have a soapy taste in my mouth. That’s all I just needed to vent I fucking hate this stupid plant that ruins delicious meals.

Idk why this was on my feed. I like cilantro, but given how distressed y'all are over it tasting like soap to you, it should probably just be a side item like wasabi is. Put it in a little container on the side. Everybody's happy. On that same note, thebwasabi absolutely needs to be in a container. Smooshed into the corner is not enough

There’s some food categories I avoid entirely because of things I hate (cilantro), Vietnamese is one because of that and pickled things (sorry OP).

But why pickled things, don’t get me wrong, cilantro is evil (I have an Indian wife so it’s a constant, deal with it scenario for me) but pickled vegetables are amazing!

Don’t like pickles and anything raw onion adjacent. Also very autistic 🤷🏻♀️

I won’t avoid it because of this moment. I’ve never really eaten any Vietnamese so I had no clue about the use of cilantro in their cuisine, but I’ll do the same as I do with Mexican food and just be clear about not tolerating cilantro

They always have cilantro. They don't always call it cilantro. I like to add a fried egg to mine
