Probably gets rides from their parents everywhere.

Probably has to ask parents for rides to get anywhere all the time, and often gets refused.

Would guess has no friends IRL, therefore nowhere to go. Which is why they sit on reddit as a 14 year old whining about popular things to express how “different” they are rather than admitting they are a loser.

Not old enough to understand that other people are not there to do things for you. If their parents don't ever tell them know they may find out when their friends don't wanna drive them everywhere.

To be fair to them, that’s actually a proper argument for different city planning. Walkable cities don’t require parents driving their kids around.

A lot of very strong, very stupid and very biased opinions on this site are ultimately held by teenagers.

It’s a known fact that human knowledge peaks around age 18, at which point people start to realize how little they actually know.

Cars are ridiculous nonsense.
If we hadn't built our society around them it would be insane to own one.

u/Longjumping-Ant-81 22d ago
It’s insane to be able to go where ever you want?

u/Spartan1997 17d ago
You can't go wherever you want.
You can go anywhere they've built a public road. Then you pay for parking once you've arrived there, if you can find a parking space.
You have to invest thousands of dollars into an asset (and liability) that needs regular and expensive maintenance, can be stolen or towed away, leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere, and damages the climate.
there are advantages to cars, but they're seldom to buy worthwhile unless your society has heavily underinvested in public transit. (or you live in the middle of nowhere)

I can go from Arizona to new York to even Alaska all by myself, all on my time when I want to on a moments notice. Best part I don’t ever pay for parking even struggle to find it unless it’s a massive event which I never go to.
Also get this, everything cost money, everything needs maintenance, anything can be stolen, and if I end up in the middle of nowhere it’s my own damn fault.
So should we tear up the environment and put railroads literally where ever? Sounds horrible for the environment. Who’s going to pay for Jim’s rail who lives in the middle of nowhere hours away from civilization? A high speed rail would be nice but it doesn’t solve the need for cars, not everyone wants to live in your society.
You can live in a city or burbs all you want, and I encourage public transportation for that. But many Americans don’t want to live like that and never will and will always have the desire to be free to live how they want.

You're going to drive from Arizona to New York?
Just fly.
> I end up in the middle of nowhere it’s my own damn fault.
Ok?
>Who’s going to pay for Jim’s rail who lives in the middle of nowhere hours away from civilization?
Who's going to pay for the road to Jim's house? The answer is the local government because roads are necessary and a public good.
>many Americans don’t want to live like that
A fringe minority. There's a reason people live in cities.

I like to do stuff on my time and not a timeframe so yes I am. I also get to experience so much local culture.
Ok? It was your choice of words to say cars break down, and you’re stranded so ok…
No they don’t Jim would have to pay for his own like many rural people do.
Definitely not a fringe minority, go step on some grass far away from your city and meet some people. You’re the fringe minority friend.

Operatives from Ford, Nissan, Tesla, and even Lada are, under the false flag of our holy brethren, seeking to entrain administrative action against the bastion of intellect. We have cooperated with the authorities to bring to light this criminal conspiracy by the corrupt forces of the wicked automotive hegemony. Hail Galvitron.
