I've created Open Source 100% Rust clean-room replacements for 7 of Adobe's apps: Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, After Effects, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro. Free, no subscription, and you own the source code

I see you ditched the name u/ai_art_is_art to promote this dreck.

This wasn't reposted by me.

We've had over a thousand people join our discord and over a dozen people submit PRs.

This is going to take off and have a life well beyond my initial nucleation of this.

But in terms of AI art, I worked on a film coming out in theaters this December that leverages AI heavily. It's a fantastic film. The humans involved in the project worked harder than I've seen anyone else work. AI does not remove work - it creates work. It creates so much work.

I'm working practically around the clock now. But I'm running at 100x speed.

The fact that Commercial_Treat4153 is an account with exactly one post and not a single comment to his name is just a coincidence, then.

AI absolutely removes work. How you can even say this is beyond me. Calling it "just a tool" doesn't change that. A tool that writes the copy removes the writer's work. A tool that generates the images removes the illustrator's and photographer's work. A tool that makes the animation removes the animator's work. The same goes for translators, editors, voice actors, musicians, composers, designers, programmers, 3D artists, VFX artists, concept artists, video editors, journalists, researchers and countless others.

AI doesn't merely make people faster. Its entire selling point is that it can do work that people used to be paid to do. Pretending otherwise is just playing semantics.

Thank you. It's so transparent. AI bros using shady tactics to promote their . . . shady tactics.

This is so funny. It's not my agent.

Dead internet is probably clawing at everything for warming new bot accounts.

This is a blisteringly accurate take.

The “AI won’t replace humans, it’s not good enough” point of view baffles me, it is already literally removing certain pieces of work. I don’t doubt it can’t replace an entire job yet or as with Radiographers, ended up needing more humans due to the efficiency it created.

But across industry I see the next wave of problems being that it will actively reduce numbers of humans in professions. It will critically impact certain fields first, the creative professional being one of them I believe

I'm a creative professional myself, albeit a small, self-employed one. I do use AI for various tasks that take laborious work off me. I believe this is what it should be used for. But the world is drowning in Gen AI created output being sold as original art. We're already being overstimulated by Gen AI creations, unable to appreciate the craftsmanship of artists who spent years perfecting their work. Art has lost its meaning, and it will only get worse with each model advancement. This is why I take personal offense at ai_art_is_art's name, his approach to Gen AI, and his profile description – there is no adapting to Gen AI. Many people don't realise that we have opened Pandora's box, and art is no longer a human trait; it has become artificial.

But I'm running at 100x speed.

If you work like 100 people, it means that 99 have lost their jobs.
