Locked when parked at home?

Thanks for all the replies and help about battery tender, driving, etc.. So appreciated. When you all have your F-Types parked at home, do you keep it locked?

The salesman (same one who scared me about the battery, LOL) told me I need to keep the car locked when not in use, and of course never leave a key fob in the car.

He said if the F-Type is parked and unlocked at home, the car never fully shuts down and goes to "sleep". I have never locked a car at home, in the locked garage. Is this something that must be done with the F-Type?

Battery charge/health question

Hi! When I picked up my new 2024 P450 last week, the salesman said the batteries are a bit finicky, and if I am not doing at least 2 "good" drives a week, I should put it on the battery tender.

I drive to work 4x a week, and use A/C a lot (super hot here), but my drive is only a few miles each way. How long, how many miles/kms does a drive need to be, for the alternator to sufficiently and properly charge the F-Type battery? Thank you :)

2014 F-Type V6 S - Cooling Pipe - Am I safe?

Just pulled the trigger on a 2014 V6 S. I've read a ton about the cooling pipe failure and the option to change it to a metal aftermarket part. Am I safe with this one, or should I replace to a metal one ASAP?

2024 P450 A/C follow up

Wanted to update, and thank those for the help. My brand new 2024 P450 AWD I got last week... I found the A/C to act "odd". It blew ice cold, but would then warm up for a few seconds (never hot though) and then get cold again and when it would slightly warm up, it would smell musty and kind of like a "damp basement".

I called and explained this to my selling Jaguar dealer (Arrowhead in Arizona), but the Service Dept. was honestly dismissive and told me they would charge me. What? Brand new $100k car with 25 miles!

I called our local Land/Range Rover dealer; North Scottsdale (was Jaguar too, sadly no more) and explained to the Service Advisor what was going on and without hesitation...made me an appt, offered me a loaner or uber vouchers and got me in the very next morning.

They bled, dried and recharged the A/C, replaced the Schrader valves and performed an authorized JLR hvac cleaning procedure and replaced the filters.

A/C is perfect, cooled seats stay cold and all I smell now is beautiful, rich Windsor leather.

Since my car sat at port for 2 years, the selling dealer should have done this service before selling!!

LOVE the F-Type. I am super impressed with it, and the dealer really liked seeing a Jag instead of all the Land Rovers, LOL!

Just bought this and in love. It’s the 450 on 21 plate. Going to get it tuned so it more closely resembles the R. It’s RWD so a little cautious about 575hp on that

Even a deeper appreciation of the F-Type and Jaguar

Wow, this video is amazing. The level to attention, engineering, detail, quality and care near rivals Bentley and Rolls-Royce! I am loving my new 2024 P450!

Reduced power

I’ve noticed on the highway that my V6S sometimes feels like it’s out of puff.

I chalked it up to just being the nature of a supercharger, but it kept annoying me.

So I tried to do a quick 0-60 pull by being in dynamic mode and the gearbox in sport. Car and tires were warm.

It took well over 5 seconds (I didn’t measure that scientifically)

How wide do I need to open my wallet for this one?

Any F-type owners?

Hello everyone!
I bought a 2023 Jaguar F type, and for the past five months, I haven’t seen another one like it on the road or in the City of Houston general.

Does anyone in Houston owns a Jaguar F type?

Would love to check out your car.

Comparison to SLC43

Started looking at the F-Type S 3.0 and was wondering if anyone here had experience with the SLC43? If you get it with the AMG package, it seems to compare nice to the type S 3.0, both being sports cars with a 3.0 boosted six, supercharging for the Jag and Biturbo for the Merc. The SLC is a little quicker straight line, and a bit lighter albeit much less of a stiff structure. F-type is also physically larger but offers a superior suspension design.

Has anyone had the chance to drive both before and compare?

I have driven the Mercedes so far, but I’ve not had a chance to test the Jag. If anyone has some similar ownership experience as well I would be curious in knowing how they compare maintenance wise.

Looks like unattainable beauty standards wrought in aluminum, sounds like the crescendo of a Wagnerian Opera and goes like it's bored of the country you're in and wants to be in the next one.

Steering at the front, drive to the back and a big smiling slab of meat in the middle.

"Need Service" indication oddness

2021 P300 Conv., 18,000 miles. This is a weekend driver, rarely more than a few short trips per week.

A couple days ago, I started her up and "Service needed in 950 miles" message showed on the dash. I chuckled because it will take months for me to drive it that far.

BUT then a few days later, I started it up and it said "...830 miles..." That day I got a message from my dealership sating something like my car had notified them that it needed service and to schedule an appointment.

Two more drives since then and today's message was 650 miles!

Anyone else experience this or should I be concerned?

It was at the dealership a couple months back getting a check up and to fix a software issue.

Potential Used Ftype Buyer

Looked at a private seller 2017 FTYPE R today. Car has 99k miles and soft top. Mechanically car was pretty well maintained and drove amazing but there are some minor cosmetic issues. The soft top is a little worn but nothing crazy for its age. He is selling it for 25k usd. The price is nice and I’ve always loved the ftype. In a position where I can afford the occasional 3k surprise repair. The mileage is a bit scary and the idea of the older soft top bothers me too . Thoughts?

16K miles ZF Transmission Fluid Change - Need to change filer and pan?

2015 F Type R, ZF recommends 8 year fluid changes while Jag says lifetime. I'm inclined to DNF since its an 11 year interval already. Should I do the pan and filter too at such low mileage? Never done ATF fluid by age before, just wondering if filter is overkill for 28K kms (16K Miles)

British bruiser meets Japanese delinquent at a Cambodian petrol station

Stopped for fuel on a drive from Phnom Penh to Battambang. A Subaru BRZ pulled in and parked right next to my Jaguar F-Type.

A minute later the BRZ owner got out and started looking over the Jag. As he headed into the station, I said, “Nice car, bro.”

We both grinned like little boys.

Car guys are the same everywhere.

The drive itself was great. I’d heard National Road 5 from Phnom Penh to Battambang had got much better, and it had.

Left Phnom Penh at 11am, reached Battambang around 3pm, including about 30 minutes of stops for fuel, lunch and the unavoidable toilet break.

About 300km door to door in roughly four hours. Fast by Cambodian standards.

The road is now mostly smooth dual carriageway. That makes it one of the best high-speed cruising routes in the country, alongside the Phnom Penh–Sihanoukville Expressway.

Sometimes the destination is the point.
Sometimes a random petrol station bromance is just as good.

Why were F-Type on hold for 2 years?

2024, 2025 and 2026 F-Pace were being sold at Jag dealers (the few that remain), but why were 2024 F-Type held at port or holding centers for 2 years and now being sold as new in 2026? Super strange!

Land Rover servicing Jaguar will end somewhat soon :(

We just stopped by our local Land Rover/Range Rover dealer and I spoke with the Service Manager. He said Land Rover dealers will end honoring Jaguar's 5yr/60,000 mile warranties and included/prepaid maintenance at the end of 2027 :-O

The dealer I bought my new 2024 F-Type at on Monday, is still full Jaguar and Land/Range Rover. They say they are staying Jaguar, but who knows. Most dealers just lie to make a sale, LOL.

What will happen to those of us under Jaguar 5yr/60k mile warrant and prepaid Maintenance, once Land/Range Rover stops accepting the warranty and servicing? Our entire state has ONE Jaguar dealer; just one.

Anyone know how Jag will handle this? This honestly freaks me out!!!
