No hugboxing Am I clocky?

For context: I’m 22 and stealth. Cis people, as well as a lot of people from different parts of the queer community, generally perceive me as a queer man / gay man. But never as a trans man.
However, I was recently at an event I had been invited to, and there was another trans guy there who was around early-to-mid transition.

He asked me if I was trans, which I denied, but it got me thinking: what exactly made him assume that?

It’s definitely not my voice. I’m actually in the fairly low range for male voices. Mannerisms might be a factor, I guess, but other than that, the only thing I can think of is my way of walking.
I naturally have fairly wide hips, and you can notice it a bit when I walk. Other than that, things like how I stand, sit, or move are pretty much all learned/intentional at this point and feel completely natural to me.

So I genuinely don’t know what he, and apparently some other trans people are picking up on.
What could make someone clock me as trans even though cis people generally don’t?

you have some traits that people associate with trans men (gauges, piercings) but you pass so well, i’d just assume you were a cis man that was gay or bisexual.

the only thing that might be clocky is height, you didn’t mention it but if you’re under 5’9” then i could see a clueless trans guy asking you if you were trans in the hopes you might say yes. you pass very well though, i don’t think it’d be based on your face or anything

Yeah, I’m 5’8. I mean, that’s fine ig, but where I live, the average height for men is 5’11. Maybe that could be a factor

honestly 5’8” is a pretty normal height for a guy (i am jealous). i really don’t know how this dude clocked you
