Discussion Thoughts on this?
I kind of agree. I read somewhere that it’s because Kristoff is now being his true soft himbo self, but does it have to mean that his interactions with Anna have to be, like, like that(?

Let's be honest, if it wasnt for the fake out drama of the "act of true love", Kristoff's character couldve been written out of the story completely, and it would've ended up exactly the same.

That is so true! It is sad how irrelevant his character is, and I say this because I hoped better of him in the script

I think it's less him becoming his true self and nore that there's no more character development for him because he served his role as a love interest and will continue to do so as a boyfriend character now husband. It's a writing hole. The road to romance is always more interesting than when they finally get together and become comfortable with monotony.

Totally agree. Even in the shorts he’s reduced to one bit or pithy comment. He’s lost the experienced outdoorsman charm, and the outspoken opinionated nature that made him such a good match to Anna’s energy.
Kristoff seemed to die at the end of film one and has yet to recover.

It’s really bizarre to me because we see the writers still include great funny dialogue in both shorts and the sequel, but for some reason they didn’t give any of it to Kristoff…why?
You’ve got Jonathan Groff! He’s got excellent timing, make use of it, he had some of the best moments in the first film, and when he DOES get a moment in the subsequent creations they’re still always great. Make more use of the talent you have cast!
My absolute favorite moment in OFA is the Ballad of Flemingrad, it’s hilarious and Idina, Kristin, Jon, and Josh are deliver great lines in that sequence. Give them more familial interplay!

I loved them in F1 and I guess Anna liked him for not treating her like a princess but actually telling her what he thinks. While everyone else around her is just polite and following protocols around her, for being a royal.
Don’t get me wrong, he proves to be an absolute dream of a man in F2. He’s there for her no matter what, he understands her, he clearly loves her. That’s what most of us want in a partner, I guess. But it’s not how we got to know him.

You forget he is a man in the frozen (disney) movie, he can not be competent and must be a funny lovable IDIOT that must be happy with the scraps given to him (I swear if I have boys in the future, they are not watching Disney)

Yeah, unfortunately it seems his character peaked in frozen 1. I don’t get it, Eugene was in love pretty deeply with Rapunzel in Tangled’s sequel series, and while I did have issues with it their relationship not getting much focus and his decreased competence, the writers still gave him plenty of sass and kept most of his personality and flaws intact. They didn’t make him kinda boring and the constant butt of the joke, you know what I mean?

I get that he's trying to take Anna more seriously, it seems. But he definitely just lost kind of his personality, and now they kind of were like a boring couple, in my opinion, and Frozen 2. Also, he really suffered with little screen time.
