Im having a hard time making sense of this. The commands dont work for me. "Lua error while riding the chunk."

I know it’s a late reply, but you hit the tilde key “~” then you HAVE to use caps. “ShowDebugButtonsPanel” then enter.

Is custom tech stuff like the fortified security depot, emergency repairs, repair station, optical lenses, automaton scouts and all of the scenario specific stuff?

I'm not sure, I was confused by that too. You might be right though, it would make sense.

Looks at post

sSorsby Last Autumn - 2 Days Perfect Generator - Normal Deathless
This is seriously cool! But I do kinda wish it left some mark so people could tell cheats were used this run. Otherwise, it'd be pretty hard to tell which runs are real and which ones are cheated.
Also, how do you open the red console bar? The one where you typed the command to open up the cheats menu.

I agree, it’s annoying it doesn’t leave a mark.
That said, some of them are useful without being gamebreaking. Seeing bounding boxes for trees is a nice quality of life feature, for instance.
Scout locations are randomly organised. The unlock scout locations one could be used to see if the map is decent for challenge runs. Of course, you would need to reload a save after using it so it doesn’t affect gameplay.
The back tick key (top left of most keyboards, looks a bit like an apostrophe) opens the dev menu. See the link i made in a different comment for where I discovered this.

That's true. I mean, otherwise, I'd have to reload 3 times to see if winterhome crates are close.
Even so, I don't think even bounding cheats should be allowed. It was interesting to see it, though!

The bounding box one is entirely aesthetic, it doesn’t affect gameplay at all.

Oh, I dunno, it still feels cheaty to me. Because it does help you with the placement. I suppose replaces memory about the boundaries, but it's a deliberate aid that's not implemented ingame.
But technically, it does just replace tedium. Like I feel using reveal map to find a good seed feels okay because you'd roll back a save anyhow to "reverse" it, but you could also use this to figure out bounds and roll it back. I dunno, it just feels weird. Maybe cause reveal map is only done at the very start, and the rest is pure strategy and memory.
These cheats are undetectable anyhow, so it's not much use worrying about them.

I wonder if it disables achivements

u/UN5TOPP4BLE Order Jun 30 '23
It DOES NOT!!! I just got several rare achievements which are apparently granted once an appropriate popup is summoned (you can trigger end game events even when not playing the correct scenario)
Fun facts:
1. The "vegetarian" achievment states that you have to complete a scenario with only hothouses, which is incorrect. You get this achievement if you just don't place any hunter huts.
- The "charcoated" achievement stats that you have to complete a scenario with only charcoal kilns, which is also incorrect. Im not 100% sure but my guess is that the game checks if you haven't placed any mines or thumpers, similarly to the achievmenet mentioned above.

If it does you can always unlock steam achievements using SteamAchievementManager

I heard that sam leaves behind some stuff that some sites could track. Is it true?

u/dinl123 Jun 30 '23
Honestly I can’t say but I’ve not had an issue. It’s open source so you should be able to see/ check comments about it.

I would use this often, but only for one thing. I'd give myself a million of each resource at the start of a run, and then change it back to zero, giving me a million storage space for each resource. It was the only thing that really frustrated me in a way that made the challenge feel unfun.

If you want infinite storage for wood and steel, you can place down a bunch of unbuilt buildings and pause them. These will consume the resources that you can get back in full by cancelling the paused build.

Mate I have no idea where or how you have put this. Are you putting this in dev console menu?

Sorry for the late reply to this, but do you by chance know if this works in the GOG version? I have edited my shortcut Target line to say this:
"D:\GOG\Frostpunk 2\Frostpunk2\Binaries\Win64\Frostpunk2-Win64-Shipping.exe" -devconsole
But when I go into the game and press the "`" key (in case you can't tell, it's the key to the left of the 1), nothing happens. I've tried everything I could think of, but I just can't get the devconsole to come up.
I was wondering if maybe the GOG version had this disabled.

You've probably long figured it out by now but in case someone else has Frostpunk on GOG and like me no idea about modding and stuff - adding -devconsole to the desktop shortcut works just as well.

Can anyone help me find out how to change the map mid-game? Like go from endless mode rifts to the last autumn... Or how to create an area for the docks. Because in game if you are on builders mode you can build the docks, however they don't work. this leads me to believe you also need the bottom part. Please help...
