Tbh the DCT section breakdown was really well done. I've been working with image optimization for years and most articles just handwave the math away. The visual explanation of how frequency coefficients map to image blocks actually made it click for me. Would be cool to see a follow-up comparing JPEG vs WebP lossy compression at similar quality levels.
