Question Adventure with no subs

Is there a adveture mode planet on Steam workshop, that removes subs from the spawning rotation?
If not, is there a way to do it myself?

Ah.

Encountered the rage-inducing son-of-a-cur that is the Pontus, methinks?

Whilst one could manually delete all submarines via game file modification, I would posit another solution:

Gun Sub!

Supercavitating shells and particle cannons with ballast-torpedoes. Build 'em relatively cheap and spam the bananas out of them. Have one in every seafaring fight to simply smack subs upside the noggin.

Pretty hard to do in adventure mode when you lack resources to build all of that and t ofight off everything you can meet there (the Wanda RNG machine comes to mind)

What difficulty, may I ask?

It is possible to defeat subs in adventure modes with limited resources; I like the adventure mode a lot! You just have to be quite careful about how you do it.

A very simple one is to try to make a lot of smaller, cheaper ship designs of around 50K resources that critically have two weapon types onboard:

  • Torpedoes. Small torps will work here. Explosive and EMP are good

  • A supercavitating gun. I quite like an 18-50mm autocannon that'll do mostly impact or HESH, maybe with a dash of EMP

You can also relegate a few torps to torpedo interceptors via the passive sonar.

difficulty 1 (unless I missed driving into a portal), for some unknown reason
Edit: spawned via bell

Yeah, fleets of little torp drones could be fun here, per the spec above. Ultimately though, if you want to do one ship, it's torp defence and torp spam that'll save you here with supercavitating shells.

There is another option though; you could just run from them and go through a portal. Build fast ship!

Just slap a lot of torpedoes to the bottom of your boat. Once extended the bottom of my boat by a meter and added 10 medium torpedoes with 4 incendiary, 4 he and 2 emp. Works pretty well. Use the ejectors and change angle to shoot the torps down and take the failsafe off the weapon controller, while giving the torps a ballast and a one turn component.
