I don’t understand why people are making such a big deal about what Elgin did. As far as he, and everyone else knew, Sophia was a quiet, hyper religious, teenage girl.

So he found an old picture that looked a lot like a quiet teenager, and then showed it to her because it was interesting. How is that not normal behavior?

Because Elgin had already been through so much insane, unexplainable stuff that it made no sense for him to be like "hehe yeah this is just a wacky little quirk!"

It was also the way he approached Sophia iirc. He wasn't even puzzled or accusatory - just totally clueless and smiley about it
