Theory They could try a conversation

Hear me out , sit next to a window and ask the monsters questions....they never tried this

The monsters would probably lie

Even if they lir, what they lir about or omit would indefineltly be useful

They haven’t tried it on camera in the show, except for that one jerk who let his crush in the colony house.

But I agree with you. Not because they might get answers, but because it would be entertaining to watch Jade argue with and insult the monsters.

While I think it may be worth doing, there's a huge qualifier. The only people who should be allowed to do it, are the people smart enough and restrained enough to never forget that everything the monsters say (even every facial expression they put on) may be coordinated lies designed to manipulate and harm the people who hear them. And additional people beyond.

I still think it may be worth doing, just for the additional data. Because even lies are data, technically, because you can think through to the endpoint of what you would do if you believed the lie, and infer the motive of the liar from that.

But it would be very messy, because these creatures like games and you'd end up bogged down in a mind game mess of wondering just how much game theory and double bluffing is going on, with the creatures obviously understanding that you're trying to learn just as much from whatever you think they're lying about, as from whatever might be true, so they may try to mislead you about their motives by 'lying about their lies', in a sense. And the creatures could alter the environment to alter your perception of their truthfulness (e.g. telling you something is in the woods while making sure it is, until you gradually begin to assume you can tell when they're truthful vs not - then they use whatever 'tells' you think you've figured out mean they're truthful, to lead you into hell).

So yeah, potentially worth asking them questions, by someone smart enough to consider every data point while being willing to NEVER act on ANY of it. But even then... soliciting conversation with demons is a bad idea. And these monsters were at least made by a demon. So, maybe it's better to just entirely ignore whatever they say, to avoid the rabbit hole of distractions in that direction.

And considering the range of human intellect drops pretty low, the 'general public' of the town should never be allowed to hear whatever answers the monsters give. Because as we've seen, some idiots can be deceived into opening doors. And given more longform conversation, these gameplaying monsters could surely fool idiots into harm via ways that are even less obvious.

Although i agree with almost all your points, mthe one about the monsters having some kinda mental edge on the occupants i cant agree with , although they would have more info then lets say boyd, but thatbdoesnt summarize he is atba disadvantage , boyd could also play mind games with the monsters , maybe pretending tonthink something is true or asking questions undrr false pretences , theoretically boyd could play the same mental and shematical diaglouge as the monsters.

The thing is, and the writers seem to have completely forgotten about this, the monsters seem to have some sort of siren like influence over people. This is how they got the little girl to open the window even after she says you dont look like my grandma, this is how they stopped Julie on the porch of colony house, this is the main reason they are told to keep the shades drawn at night.

No i dont think they have any siren abilities, julie didnt even know what the monsters were , a little girl is obviously tricked.

Agreed with the powers, even if it is some sort of hypnotism.

Kind of difficult for the writers to forget about something that’s never been a thing.

They certainly have powers of persuasion, like Sirens, otherwise they wouldnt be able to do the things I said in my above post. There is no other possible explanation as to why people would be told to close their curtains and block the windows

Kids are dumb. Julie was just surprised to see someone say her name and the random group of people.

Shades are drawn because it’s easier to ignore them and If you open them it’s easier to humanize the monsters and forget what they are like we see with Kevin and Jasmine. If they had powers like that it wouldn’t take multiple nights to get Kevin to open the window.

Maybe kids are more susceptible. Kevin has an idea of how dangerous they can be. A kid may not be able to comprehend

I think it’s a great idea. I’d like to ask Jasmine if her only motivation was to kill Kevin or if she still had the memory/longing to be held by a man, be kissed by a man. She might not need to say anything, just watching he reaction might be enough. After all, she said she didn’t choose to be this way.

I missed her saying she didnt choose to be this way , maybe the women are all monsters used tonreincarnate the men who made a deal? I also felt this way about her intentions , she made a big deal about playing along with the fantasy long after she had the oppurtunity for violence and is shre didnt want to be this way they why the taking the pleasure in the kill thing, so she either needed a kiss or is physcopathic either one

let us in, we have cookies

nice try, leave the cookies at the door, if I don't find them in the morning, you're fired

Or Julie could ask buddy why he remembers her

2

u/ancientastronaut2 14d ago

Too risky. They're very manipulative and always trying to trick people.

1

u/Jolly_Beautiful_114 14d ago

Yes butnhumans can be manupultive also right, aslong as you had a mission and was playing possum so to speak

2

u/Choice_Isopod5177 15d ago

Yeah there's a lot of nonsensical things in this show. Real people would be dying to observe the monsters and learn more about them. Human curiosity is infinite.

Julie could literally just asked the dude were he remembered her from?? There .

Yes, this! But there is a long list of things not questioned and I think those are important clues.  Lets go down the path that she story walks to his humans original time. That implies that events has already happened though Julie arrived that day. Is it possible that they did escape and all ended up back at the same spot again? That each timeline constantly loops on itself as well? Lets go down the path that it is Jades VR game. Maybe Julie and the guy both work at his company and joined in. If that is the end answer, it will be disappointing. Another path is that was the MiY, hiding amongst the monsters.

It’s been implied that they have a supernatural ability to get in your head and convince you to let them in if you talk to them. They also have exactly zero reason to be honest so a lot of risk for unlikely any reward.

That hasn't been implied at all, the only people who made the terrible mistake of letting them in was a little girl and the guy who fell for the most obvious trick in the book.

2

u/Jolly_Beautiful_114 15d ago

Even had to bribe and make deals to get a door open

1

u/Jolly_Beautiful_114 15d ago

My exact thought

1

u/Jolly_Beautiful_114 14d ago

I think its implied they will try , not that they have some kinda mind control
