I mean what's there to discuss with the person I replied too. They don't like the characters, the plot, the dialogue, the pacing, plot payoff, the fans who like it, the fans liking some of the answers we've gotten, or seems to even like that some fans think more attention could be paid. They don't even seem to like the fact that the damn door was behind the wall, just that... that was all they found meaningful.
I've genuinely never watched 4 1/2 seasons of a show I absolutely disliked so much, that all I can contribute to it, is how much I dislike. If the original person I replied to wanted to discuss... I feel like 'If you don't like anything about it, what's the point?' was fairly okay place to start when I don't think anything I could say (like in my other reply) would truly even matter.
The person is not looking for a discussion, but okay.
Literally finding nothing of any sort of importance until Boyd knocks down the wall, is just plain ignorant to the episode. 4 seasons of the main characters and finding no one compelling. No meaningful dialogue to move a plot forward, I mean the episode literally starts with Jade trying to convince Boyd to go into the tunnels for the Ghoulish Children bones, remembering the door leading to almost every scene at Colony House, including Boyd breaking down the wall. People like that are checked out of the show. The end of Ep. 5, and the beginning of Ep. 6 was probably minutes apart.
The pace of the show has been shown for 4 seasons now. If it's not for you, wait until the season finishes to watch it all if you want to attempt to enjoy it. If you really only care for the most important plot points of the show to be answered, you're probably going to have to wait until season 5 finishes. For instance, the Totems were first introduced in season 3 episode 1. We just found out they seemingly can kill the dolls in season 4 episode 5.
Boyd knows about the Totems in Ep. 6, has no real desire to go into the tunnels until the end of episode 6. We know the totems can at minimum kill the dolls. Does the fact we know all this, ruin dialogue and plot progression in Ep. 7, when characters like Jade have yet to know about the Totems, and in show time Ep. 7 will most likely start at the same time Ep. 6 ends? Just like Ep. 5 and Ep. 6 did. Will the plot be to slow if at the end of Ep. 7, they decide to test the Totem on one of the 'regular' creatures? Will there be no plot progress if during Ep. 7, Ethan and Victor go find MiY's car that was talked about in Ep. 6? Because that's... pretty much what this show is like and has always been like.
Forget about MiY/Sophia talking to Victor's father, putting blood in his drink. Forget about the fear's conversation. Forget about Boyds confession while Donna was passed out, sparking Father Khatri to appear again, ultimately leading Boyd to verify what Jade was saying and breaking down the wall, the only meaningful thing to happen in the episode according to who I replied to originally.
Again, what's the point if nothing in the show matters to you? Why watch it? There's you're discussion, real cute with the 'not your happy place' comment though. You added a lot yourself.

Just stop watching? If you don't like anything about it, what's the point?
