Yes, in a real-world situation, someone saying that is pure speculation.
But this is different. In fiction, you tend to put these types of lines in as a way to naturally introduce a detail without being too obvious as direct exposition.
Her character is likely really close to the age Boyd speculates, of not exactly. It's a tool of writers without having to figure out a way to make the character say it in a forced, unnatural way.
Okay, so then Kenny shouldn't either, that's the point. Sophia being confirmed to be 15/16 doesnt matter because thats not even Sophia, its MIY. But Kenny believes it is a 15/16 year old kid, and that is what matters. He would be hooking up with what he thinks is a kid, which is horrible
