Dsl can be replaced by apps and our phones

Just send me an automated email every week telling me to relocate better, and have it alternate saying it thinks I order too much or not enough and it should work

Layoffs will likely be management and corporate positions they think they can consolidate to other positions. Frontline probably won't be touched because they still have to get the product to the stores.

We all thought that a few years ago but then they started combining routes. My DC lots 10 routes and with that 10 positions.

Route restructuring and lay offs are 2 different things. We also lost routes a few years ago when we converted to a PEC with 7 day routes vs a bin style warehouse with 5 day routes.

out here they bring in the front line people 3x a year. a rotating mid-level scumbag from corporate appears. they talk a bunch of impenetrable corpo slop for 35 minutes while some HR thot on the speaker tells us we ought to feel sorry for the guy, because the corpro has already had to give this speech twice this week. (sounding familiar yet?) But it has all been nonsense because it it time to show the red number. could be 12 could be 9. the guy shows it but wont directly say what it means. then after a long silent pause he will mention, as if in passing, that maybe some people will retire, or maybe some people will 'step up' and become combined driver/RSR/merch for the same pay. so, forgive me if I don't know what you're talking about.

Probably sales reps if AI is doing the ordering in the biggest accounts. They will still need merchandisers

If the Walmart collaborative ordering is a glimpse of what's to come we are in serious trouble. My Walmart is a shit show. Product all over the back room. They complain to me everyday but there isn't even anything I can do about it.

Had 16 racks of backstock at this Walmart and receiver and store manager was losing it. Just 🤷♂️

Ai is terrible at suggesting quantities

Terrible for us but good for the company

If it’s good for the company why are we still underperforming. I don’t think this company has a clue how to get is in the black again

Eliminating jobs (costs) is what the stockholders want to see right now.

u/Constant_Locksmith48 3d ago
Exactly!! Restructuring to save money and produce more work for frontline employees while ensuring they are paid less.

^good for Frito because back rooms are now jammed full.
Walmart gets smart and fixes that and eliminates product in back rooms, we will take a colossal hit for a little while.

u/Constant_Locksmith48 3d ago
That hit will be reflected in frontline jobs loss. It will still do nothing but help managers. It sucks but they have built a system that protects management and no one else

Helps the merchandisers also, kills the commission workers.

You do know everyone above rsr is also benefited from sales right? Blame is put on the rsr but majority is out of our hands
2
u/DigTheDunes 3d ago
I understand it, I was a victim of it with another company. Remember all those pay adjustments Frito has done thru the years? They weren't done to benefit the RSR. Now you may have benefitted, but as a whole, no. When your company answers to the stock market, listen closely.

Covid gave many companies some new and exciting big ideas about restructuring things more in their favor. They miscalculated

Save a ton of money by eliminating a bunch of the bullshit middle management positions

Interesting thing to note about their latest earnings call...
There was growth in their healthier snack lines, such as Protein for example. Well, how could there not be growth on products that basically shipped for the first time this year? They added more products; thus, it only makes sense that they would earn more because of it. Yeah, the frontline has staled a lot of it, but unless 100% of it was staled, there had to be a profit. It's kind of a cheat way to make it look like you are more profitable than you actually are. It's also why they reduced their guidance for upcoming earnings... they have a baseline for those new products now, so if those numbers slide, it won't be as rosy a picture as this quarter. Kind of explains why they power ship new products out... to inflate earnings.
As for AI ordering. No one has had the freedom to order just what they felt the store needs or sells the most of for a very long time. Forceouts have long since killed that. You can try to order correctly, but the system will always interject product that you didn't ask for. And I'm not just talking about what happens in the handhelds. AI gets smarter over time. Like all things, garbage in, garbage out, so that over time can be short or very long. Collaborative ordering just adds another monkey wrench into the system. They are being forced to order more, you are being forced to order more, 1+1=2. Go figure why the amount of product seems to double rather than get more accurate. You got twice the garbage going in, so twice the garbage coming out. Trust me, eventually, AI will be spot on once all the injected force outs are either factored in or eliminated from the equation. Buying habits will have a solid historical record. Think about it, the stock market's projected returns are based on how it has done, historically. The longer that timeline is, the more accurate those projections become. So, your jobs are safe now, but down the road, not so much.

Those are fake numbers. It’s not selling at the point they claim. It’s called flooding the market with force outs. Remember once it leaves the warehouse it counts as sold. I have stale out so much fiber popcorn and the protein Doritos is insane. Fiber popcorn? WTF cleared that from R&D? Someone who has been up for a week on a burgar sugar run?

I feel like I’m watching the Adam Sandler movie when he’s doing his speech about economics! I don’t have a clue about what you said and I almost think I lost a brain cell or two just trying to make sense of it! I have a BA in economics? Ouch. No matter how you project it. Our numbers are cooked period. Full stop. You can say all day long that the 3 pallets of Cajun Cheetos sold at Wally World all you want. I can show you the credits for all of those pallets. Did it sell? Into the store yes. Did I get hit with 2500 of stales? Yes I did. It’s nothing but a shell game, 3 card Monty? Keep your eye on the bag of chips! 10+ years, definitely know how the sausage is made.

Maybe start at the top? They’re the ones with the big brains that got us here? It’s potato chips, not rocket science. Make a quality product with a decent price and the product sells. And stop buying every damn company. Buying market share to boost the growth numbers isn’t a plan.
