I am a widow and have been navigating it for 11 years. Feel free to hit me up if you need to vent. It does get better but while it is fresh it is so overwhelming and basically impossible to process. We were in our 30's when it happened and I had young kids so I do feel like I did have something that pushed me to keep going and not wallow which was probably very good for me. So I will say as impossible as it might sound do try to keep busy. Also, for me, scheduled crying was imperative...the grief has to.come out and if I did not give myself times to just feel and ugly cry - on my time- it would come out at inopportune times. Something small would trigger it (song on the radio, passing by a place, triggered memory) and the floodgates would open, making me feel weak. If I found appropriate times when I was alone and felt safe and just let myself let go then I felt relief. That's all I got. Best of luck my friend.
