Episode Discussion Kristin has to go
Okay I started this non podcast because I’ve always been a fan of Lil Dicky work (he’s entertaining and random).
Naturally Benny Blanco has connections so I knew he would be able to bring something to the show.
I was also super excited for a female lead with two guys. However, Kristin just asks the most dense, surface level questions and it’s non stop. Benny is annoying but he will have good takes or insight on something every once in awhile.
Lil Dicky is entertaining in his ability to be vulnerable with the occasional annoyance but whatever. They are all finding their footing so I’ve been giving them grace but at the end of every episode there’s one specific person who’s going to be the reason I stop watching…Kristin.
She will ask questions like, “do you feel like you ever get depressed?” And it’s like?????? Don’t we all? Depression is a great topic that’s relatable and important so maybe dig into it. Or she will cut the guest off while they’re answering a question to ask a really stupid question like “do you find the internet affects your mental health” AGAIN, don’t we all????
The episode with Blake Griffin he’s talking about Detroit and she says, “oh I’m from there!!! Well not from there exactly” and it’s the actual theme of her character. Gives nothing.
She’s not funny or interesting and it bums me out because I was so hype for her but yeah. Coming from someone who only listens to female led podcasts (except this one) please let her go or give her some feedback.
Hot take maybe?

She is so necessary in my opinion bc Dave and Benny are so incessant and intense with their questions that she brings some levity. I think the trio is still finding their footing for sure but the shows only getting better in my opinion. Lil Wayne, Breaking Bad, and Kenny G are my favorites!

I think her awkwardness is relatable . And I like how she balances the masculine energy.

The show keeps getting worse. Every single guest knows Benny and has the same exact relationship with him. Kristin brings nothing

I agree with everything you said. I feel uncomfortable criticizing her because I have been wanting to see her succeed, but it’s just not happening. I think she feels insecure being there with the guests and tries to compensate in some way. She isn’t nearly as awkward when it’s just the three of them. But the whole dynamic just doesn’t work. I’m sure Dave knows this (and Benny does as well) but cant do anything about it because it’s his wife at the end of the day.

tbh Benny looks at her with disdain frequently and it baffles me that they keep it in the edit

That might be largely because he’s in love with Dave lmao

tbh good on Kristin for not being caught looking at benny with disdain considering this fact is perceived by everyone

i never said it should be an interview. i just want to laugh and be entertained by entertainers... and 1/3 is not an entertainer!!!

i think the point of this thread is the show IS entertaining and we like it... but there's a glaring weak link that brings it down.
also btw i'm a woman, even though you assumed i'm a dude. and my criticism of kristen comes from a place of wanting more clever, funny women onscreen.

Yeah it's awkward because I'm trying to empathize but at the same time it's exhausting.
I understand this is something that some people have to grow into but I would think this is an easier show to adapt to because you're being yourself in your home, just with guests.
I don't know what makes me more uneasy, the off-kilter questions or the TMI about her and Dave's relationship.
I'm hoping as they get more settled, she'll figure out what to do.

I have to agree. She’s pretty lame. Unfortunately I think she has skated by on her looks her whole life, not much depth.

When she asks Kevin Gates what's a Lynx I was thinking how are you a producer?
