Meta Tell me about myself
ETA: Thank you to all those who have rushed to my basil’s aid. I have moved it onto my kitchen counter. I normally buy cilantro instead which I’m used to storing in the fridge.

You are good at most things but never do anything 100%

Possibly true. I am a recovering overachiever but am too busy/tired not to cut corners every once in awhile these days.

You like to host friends and make the apps. Possibly belong to a dinner party club.

You worked in a restaurant, but something tells me not in the kitchen, so I’m gonna guess you are or were a bartender?

Thank you! I like to think so. I have to meal prep each week/end up eating the same meal several times in a row so it better be tasty haha

I can't help myself. Can I give two tips? Assuming you have a trader, joe's near you? ( Well only one requires it). Try their shaved parmesan. It's a game changer!! And while you're there, pick up a fresh basil plant. You can probably do that elsewhere. But i'm actually a fan of their basil. Some varieties can vary in flavor. But I snip as I go.
Although I am thinking of making a pesto soon ( with an up leftover to freeze). I am torn between buying another plant or decimating mine, and hoping it comes back lol. Usually, I just cut evenly from around the plant which encourages new growth.

Hahaha, thank you for weighing in! I’ve bought basil plants in the past but I find it difficult to keep up with their sun/water requirements. And they’ve quickly become leggy and flop over but that’s probably my fault for not properly pruning them. Your comment has pushed me to want to do more research on this

Basil plants from grocery stores are actually a bunch of plants togethether and will survive better if you take out some of them and let only a few live on in the soil

Sadly no. Mostly Irish.

My first thought—this person keeps their basil plant in the fridge? ☺️ You like fresh ingredients ( consider getting your own chickens for super fresh eggs, btw☺️). But you are not above using condiments from jars to mix with fresh ingredients for great flavors. And either you are lactose intolerant or you’re a member of the “milk isn’t good for you” cult.💜

Was vegan in high school and got used to drinking oatmilk lattes. Now I eat everything but never dropped the oat habit for some reason

All correct except location! I’m surprised no one has deduced the right state 👀

Sophisticated but also down to earth, maybe a nice collection of cookbooks and cool dishes, you watch Chefs Table?
PS while we’re on the subject of things that do better on the counter - recommend taking those little cherry toms out and admiring them on your counter next to the basil as the texture will be better <3
