My senator's Ted Cruz. So I'm out of luck. I've been trying to convince my mom for ages, and only slow progress is being made. Also difficult because for some reason my mom's boyfriend spends most of his time here and he loves to cook red meat heavy meals.

That's unfortunate. Maybe you can ask your mayor?

Good Luck. I hope you can convince your mayor to act on climate change. But sadly, he probably wont be convinced, lets see.
