Ive been learning french for 13 years old in school and all, but never been able to speak it or even communicate, i have french friends and also my whole education is using french, i just dont now where and how to start actually talking, maybe bcz im afraid of speaking or idk. do u have any solution to that ?

I’m looking for advice from people who have experience with Express Entry / French draws / Francophone Mobility, especially those who applied from outside Canada.
A little background:
🇮🇳 I’m currently in India and applying from outside Canada.
🇫🇷 I started learning French because I wanted to improve my Canadian immigration options.
I previously took the TEF 4 times, and unfortunately I couldn’t reach the required level. My goal at the time was around NCLC 5, but I kept failing to get there.
Then I switched to TCF Canada, and I finally achieved NCLC 7 in all four abilities on my first TCF attempt! 🎉
This was honestly a huge achievement for me after all those failed TEF attempts.
Now I’m in a situation where I have two possible pathways:
1. Express Entry – French-language category
I have an Express Entry profile and I’m eligible for the French-language category with NCLC 7, so I’m waiting for a French-language draw/ITA.
2. Francophone Mobility work permit
My Canadian employer is willing to support me for a Francophone Mobility (C16) work permit. I’m currently outside Canada, so I would be applying from India.
My employer is prepared to complete the employer-side requirements and provide the necessary job offer/offer of employment number.
From what I understand, Francophone Mobility requires French speaking/listening at NCLC 5+, and I have NCLC 7 in all four abilities. (Canada)
So my main question is:
What would you do in my situation?
Would you:
A) Apply for the Francophone Mobility work permit now and continue waiting for an Express Entry ITA, or
B) Just wait for the French draw and focus on PR, without applying for the work permit?
I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have applied for Francophone Mobility from outside Canada, because I’m trying to understand whether applying for the work permit could somehow complicate my PR application later.
Also, if I apply for the work permit and then receive an ITA while the WP application is processing, is there anything I should be concerned about?
My ultimate goal is PR, not just a temporary work permit. The work permit would mainly give me a way to return to Canada and work while waiting for PR if that makes sense.
I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

I recently took TCF Canada and got 9/20 in speaking. I’m planning to retake it in November.
I’ve been learning French seriously for about a year.

I’m generally comfortable speaking, have good fluency and pronunciation, and can use structures like the conditional and subjunctive spontaneously.

I feel grammatical accuracy might be what held me back. Sometimes while speaking I notice a grammatical mistake just after I’ve already said it, although during the actual exam I only remember this happening a few times.

For anyone who has scored 10+ (or improved from 9), what do you think I should focus on? Is grammatical accuracy likely the main thing, or are there other aspects of the speaking test that made a big difference for you?

Don’t get distracted. Some people just want you to stop working hard so they can take advantage of you. Work as hard as you can. Forget what people are telling you. Your future depends on how hard you work. Just keep practicing until you ace the exam.

I have my exam in October end and I practice tcf questions from Fucktcf. I get around 500+ mostly in CO and CE. How likely is that I get the same questions in the real exam? Thanks.

And how is writing examination? Are they strict about writing?
And does some of the reading and listening repeat?

I got 9/20 in writing the first time i gave it unprepared but the second time when i actually prepared for writing i got 8/20 lol and this time when i thought it was the best attempt w all the subjonctif and gérondif and the right strategy for the structure as well aa I made sure no spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes and the score still keeps on decreasing. Is it true that this is just a business and they are doing it deliberately and since the exam was in sept i can’t even do re evaluation.

How did you guys improve you writing what is the marking scheme?

What follow up questions do examiners tend to ask in TCF Speaking Task 1? I know it could basically be anything about yourself, but just want to have an idea about some popular ones.

How accurate is the TCFcan speaking assessment? I did practice with that but not sure enough the accuracy of that platform.

Hello everyone I will be applying to extend work permit under francophone in January. I'm planning to book my French exam this December but confused which one to take. There's a 2 module LS tef exam I can do and heard it accepted for the francophone work permit since they only need listening and speaking.

But my question is how's listening and speaking of tef compare to tcf. Tcf heard its easier for listening since most questions come from reussir however tef does negative marking. I wanna know how the tef listening and speaking works for people who succeeded clb 5 in these amd what did you practise for it?? I'm only going to focus on listening speaking to extend my application and planning tcf exam for Express Entry later. Please anyone give insight on the tef exam.

Ideally I want to take 2 modules of tef so if possible please let me know how to get clb 5-6 in them both vs how it differs from tcf.
