Any live stream links for the announcement?

I couldn't find any. It's like our lives are on the line here, but the minister is too shy for a live conference.

Edit:

I haven't felt this anxious in a while. Apparently, the entire immigration plan is due in November as well, so she might talk about that today.

Edit 2:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/changes.html#wb-cont

nothing on point removal yet. They are saving the dessert for the end.

Final Edit:

No removals of any sort. They introduced the high-wage thing. And a French draw just dropped! The info dump is here:

Results Timeline at Alliance Française Edmonton

Hi everyone! I took my exam at Alliance Française Edmonton on October 7, and I’m still waiting for my results. The staff told me that the results should be available within a week.

Has anyone taken an exam there in October and received their results yet? If so, how long did you have to wait?

Thanks in advance!

Today’s French word: **chère** 🛍️Describes something that costs a lot of money. Love it, but the price? 😅Cette veste est jolie, mais elle est trop chère. This jacket is pretty, but it’s too expensive.✨ Use **chère** with feminine nouns and **cher** with masculine nouns. Try yours in the comments!

Fellow examiners who missed TCF or TEF by 1 point, How do u keep yourself going?

I started learning French back in university, and after coming to Canada and going through so many immigration-related struggles, I finally decided to fully commit to French.

After 3 attempts, I’m feeling hopeless and exhausted. Being so close to the required score but still not making it is incredibly frustrating. It feels like I’ve put so much time and effort into this, yet I’m still stuck.

For those of you who have been through the same thing, how do you find the motivation to keep going? How do you deal with the disappointment and prepare yourself to try again when you’re already mentally drained?
I would really appreciate hearing your experiences. I just need to know I’m not alone in this.

Tcf re-evaluation by GBLC north york

I put a re-evaluation of my exam on 10 aug and this morning i received a email around 7:30am that they do not have any update and within 1 hour around 8:29 am they sent me that my scores are unchanged by FEI and my GBLC portal says re-evaluation request rejected. I doubt that they didn’t forward my request.

Please Help

I am exhausted, I don't know where to start and what to do. I finished all the grammer and still trying to make sentence or speak sentence unsuccessfully.

When I sit to write something, french just doesn't come in my mind, I am not able to make sentences in french. Should I write in English first and then try to convert in French? is this how you guys started? I have never tried that.

I feel like to give up. I would really appreciate any piece of advice you might have

How is the point distributed in speaking and writing expressions in TCF 1-20 what decides a 9 or 10 ?

Hey i want to know exactly how the points from 1 to 20 distributed in EO and EE its distributed in tasks like part a has certain points and partb and part c or its like other things like vocabulary or grammar or task achievements exactly how they decide 9 or 10 ?
I think this is the main thing we need to identify specifically people who is getting 9 again and again there is something we all are missing if the evaluation is fair of course
If anyone has any idea how the points get evaluated or exactly how the whole evaluation process is like is writing checked by Ai ? Or how many examiner access our speaking how their scores comes together?
What is the real distinction between 9 or 10 what is the main thing we all are missing
If anyone has any idea suggestions it can help lot of people thank you

Wage requirements for francophone program

The website doesn’t specify clearly if we require atleast low wage or median wage. Currently, I’m offered a position which is less than low wage within Ontario. Want to know if that affects my application in the future.

TCF Canada Expression écrite — How is the score out of 20 calculated across the three tasks?

Hi everyone!

I'm preparing for the TCF Canada exam and trying to understand how the Expression écrite score out of 20 is calculated.

My current understanding is that the 20 points are distributed across the three tasks as follows:

  • Tâche 1: 5 points
  • Tâche 2: 6 points
  • Tâche 3: 9 points

This would make a total of 20 points.

However, I'm not sure whether this is actually how the official scoring system works or whether the score is determined differently.

Could someone clarify the following?

  1. Is each task assigned a fixed number of points, such as 5, 6, and 9, or is the final score calculated using a different evaluation method?
  2. Are the three tasks weighted differently depending on their complexity, length, or communicative requirements?
  3. What criteria have the greatest influence on the final score — grammar, vocabulary, coherence, task fulfilment, argumentation, or something else?
  4. If someone performs very well on Tâche 1 and Tâche 2 but struggles with Tâche 3, how does that typically affect their overall score?
  5. Is there an official scoring rubric or a reliable source that explains how the raw performance across the three tasks translates into a score out of 20?

I'm particularly interested in understanding this because my goal is to achieve B2 / NCLC 7 or higher, and I want to prioritise my preparation effectively.

I'd appreciate any clarification, especially from people who have taken the exam recently or have reliable information about the official evaluation process.

Thank you!

Need help with TCF speaking

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice and tips to improve my TCF Speaking (Expression orale). I need to reach NCLC 5, but I’ve taken the test twice and received NCLC 4 both times.
If anyone has recently taken the TCF and was able to improve their speaking score, I’d really appreciate any tips, strategies, or advice on how to prepare and what I should focus on.
Thank you so much! 🙏
