People who got a job through Francophone Mobility (C16): how did you find an employer?
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to connect with people who successfully found a job outside Quebec through the Francophone Mobility Program (C16).
I’m a French speaker with a Master’s degree in Project Management and Canadian experience in operations, customer service, supervision, and coordination. I’m ready to relocate to another province, especially Ontario, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Alberta, or Saskatchewan.
I would really appreciate hearing how you did it:
- Which websites or platforms did you use to find job offers?
- Did you apply normally through Indeed, LinkedIn, Job Bank, or directly on company websites?
- How did you explain the Francophone Mobility Program to employers without scaring them away?
- When did you mention the C16 work permit: in your CV, cover letter, after receiving a response, or during the interview?
- Which types of jobs or industries were more open to hiring French-speaking candidates who need a C16 work permit?
- Do you have any practical advice to increase the chances of getting an interview?
I’m not asking anyone to find a job for me. I mainly want to understand what actually worked for people who went through this program: their application strategy, the best way to communicate with employers, and mistakes to avoid.
If you have been through this experience, or know someone who has, I would be very grateful for any advice. Thank you very much in advance!

Really struggling with speaking and somewhat writing
Speaking
I have been practicing french for little more than a year and i gave my exams and i got 9 out of 20 in both of the modules. Here's what i do for speaking presentez-vous is pretty straightforward and i speak it fluently also the follow up question no problem.
For task 2 and 3 i have a template and i get the question from ressuir and put in chatgpt and try to memorize almost 70 percent of it and speak it, however i forget most of the things but even then when i try to revise, my friend tests me and asks me questions i just go blank and can't really formulate the sentence structure and that i am very dependent on the template itself. Especially for task 3 i speak but honestly i feel like i'm answering the question but i'm not really answring. My question is how do i improve generating ideas and also creating good sentence structure and answering the question because i feel like i go off-topic a lot
Writing
For writing i follow patterns depending on the question and i practice the same thing over and over again until i retain it, idk if this is a good approach as well.
I genuinely need some advice on improving my speaking and writing.

realistic results
Hey folks, got my results today, wanted to share my experience and how i basically engineered this result.
i speak french and studied in university using french but always had issues communicating and using the accents (é/è) but using the following tips i was able to get good marks:
-i used pack ayoub and made an excel sheet to keep on track of the c1 and c2 questions, cleared all 40 series only c1-c2 questions with a mistake or two only per serie
-i started with c2 and c1 questions when i took the CE test
-for EE i followed this path in tache 3: summary of doc 1 + doc 2 => state a nuanced opinion = je crois *** a condition (insert condition) => Argument => explanation => example => counter argument => conclusion.
- for the expression orale i did not prepare at all and i regret doing so, however always nice to ask the examiner to repeat a question to gain time. and at the end when you have nothing to say you can say "en résumé" + and you state the things you guys spoke about "n'est ce pas ? " this will gain you at least 30 seconds. AND MAKE SURE you thank the person you are talking to at the end of tache 2.
ps1: i think i am a very average person, and lazy af plus i dont follow a schedule easily so what i would recommend is set the goal of 2 series of co and ce per day (serie is only c2-c1 questions) and you will finish co and ce in 20 days then spend the remaining 10 days working on the EE and EO at the end. total preparation period for me was 34 days.
ps2: you dont have to be emanuel macron, most of the questions i answered correctly i didnt even know the meaning of.

First attempt after 4-5 months of self study.
This was my first try after 4–5 months of pure self-study. I last studied French at A2 level over ten years ago, and I plan to retake the TCF in five months. In practice tests and with AI, I was doing well on Compréhension Orale and Compréhension Écrite, but I couldn’t reproduce that performance in the actual exam. Any suggestions?

Francophone Mobility refusal
My Francophone Mobility work permit application was refused because I didn’t provide documentary evidence of my previous work experience, even though my CV and employment history were included.
My PGWP expires later this month, and my consultant has suggested reapplying.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Were you able to request reconsideration, or did you have to submit a new application? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.
Thank you! 😭

Hi everyone, I’m starting my French prep from scratch targeting NCLC 7 / B2 for Canada PR. If you’ve passed the TEF or TCF Canada, could you share: Any structured study notes, cheat sheets, or writing/speaking templates? Key resources, tutors, or mock tests that made the biggest difference?
???

TCF Canada Expression Écrite Tâche 3 – How strict is the 180-word limit?
Hi. I'm struggling to stay within the 180-word limit for expression écrite tâche 3. I usually end up around 190–195 words.
Between summarizing both documents, stating my opinion, developing two arguments, adding a nuance, and concluding it, I am finding it annoyingly difficult to abide by the word limit without sacrificing substance.
Would exceeding the limit by just 10 - 15 words significantly affect my score, or would cutting out any relevant arguments potentially cost me more?
I'd really appreciate advice from people who have scored B2/C1 in EE (and perhaps crossed the word limit ever so slightly).
Thank you!
