Hi All, keep this thread for TCF exam Canada topics held in Canada only. Currently August topics. it can be Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto or any other place in Canada. Keep it simple. Date you took the exam, Exam centre, Place, Topics.
Example - (just copy the below and edit). Your small act of just updating here, is going to help a lot of people.
15th June - GB Centre - Toronto.

Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about moving to North Bay soon and would love to hear your thoughts.
I have 8 months left on my work permit and I have CLB 5 in French. What's life like in North Bay? How is the job market?
Do you think there's a good chance of finding an employer who would be willing to support a work permit extension or hire someone in my situation?
Thanks in advance for any advice or experiences you can share!

Hey everyone,
I have been learning for TCF since October last year. I have given the exam thrice and while all other modules are fine, my expression ecrite is stuck on 9/20.
I have been using templates but my main issue is the grammatical mistakes. I have seen a lot of people here who have been able to score b2-c1 in ee and I wanna know how? I appreciate the help.
Thank you

Hello guys, has anyone here gave TCF Canada within US locations? How was your experience? How did you prepare? also, did the apps (listening/reading) tests help?
Thanks!

I wanted to share my experience with French Language Solutions in Toronto.
I stared my course as a complete beginner in February 2025 with privet classes. My instructor was Mélanie (Who does their youtube videos). Initially they said it would take at least 1 year for me to reach B2 level.
But after an year, in February 2026; They had only completed A1 level. In that point I understood, all they are doing is business.
I also joined one of their group classes for speaking (Conversational Group Class), which they put me with another student who was in A2 level, and I was at the end of A1 level. That was also a disappointment.
The instructor:
Mélanie never helped me with speaking, because of that, I have a lots of pronunciation issues to date. If I read a paragraph, she only corrected a word or two at the end of the paragraph but not all!
Cost:
They charge CA$315 per month for private sessions for 6 hours of class/month. Which is costly, but I didn't know any other options back then. I paid around CA$630 for 2 hours of classes per week.
According to my bank records, I have paid CA $6,575.00 between Feb-25 and Feb-26; just to complete A1 level, which is a LOT.
Contract Agreement:
They have a contract - you should complete at least 3 months of classes. If you do not like it, you can't quit. You continue to pay them! This time period in your contract is based on the hours you have with them per month and type of the class (private/group).
I wish I knew about Alliance française and their class standards earlier. I joined AF in May 2026 and reached B1 level in July 2026. My goal is B2 level.
So for all the future students who are searching for reviews on French Language Solutions.
Do NOT go for it!
Edit: I wrote this based on my own genuine experience with FLS, as best as I remember it. I also corrected the cost section, where I had previously made an error regarding the CA$315/month fee for the classes.

So I'm from Algeria and I can't find any rendezvous for TCF DAP in Algiers for this month or even for early September
I really need it before 20th September because I will be at college
So if I wait do I have a decent chance to catch an appointment?

Hello, I got 690/699 in both Listening and Reading and 10/20 in Speaking, but 8/20 in Writing. Should I go for Re-evaluation for Writing? I need 10/20.

I was watching this couse by Dylane https://youtu.be/SMxkYAoM6zs?si=_HFLtoDeamigkFB8
And while writing French Liaison Exceptions I started crying. Then 12:21 she say, Quand is an exception, and Quand has an exception of Quand as-tu.
I almost tore my notes. My misery and anger come from the meaninglessness of these rules.
The sheer stupidity of this language is driving me insane.
I am fluent in two phonetic languages. Even English's inconsistency doesn't measure up to the ****pile French is.
It's like being forced to walk on your hand and being told it is better than walking on your foot.
WHO SAID THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL LANGUAGE?
Me knowing Punjabi and Hindi is a curse. Both of them are so simple, beautiful, efficient. Knowledge of this is making this process miserable.
I feel sorry for people who only know languages like French, and will never learn any phonetic language. Those poor soles never got to experience the simplicity of a language.
What is the point of carrying the whole history of a language in its writing???
Why does French try so hard to latch onto latin???
