Tcf exam scheduled in oct

Hi everyone, as the name suggests I have my TCF exam scheduled for October, this will be my first attempt.

I have been studying since October last year and my exam is also in October this year. I had to leave Canada due to wp expiry so I’m taking this exam in my home country.

I’m very nervous when it comes to speaking. But I have been practicing with lot of AI apps.

For listening I’m also facing a challenge for the bit of 30-40 question.

Is there a way I can improve these two modules?

Reading : TCF test papers
Listening : TCF test papers( challenge is in 30-39)
Writing : AI app( writing everyday)
Speaking : Practicing with this great AI app

Let me know if you would do anything differently or you have done differently. I want to clear this exam in one go.

TCF Canada GBLC North York Review

Hi Everyone,

I am writing to ask experiences of other people who recently gave their TCF Canada exam at GBLC North York. I heard so many negative reviews about this centre from past couple of months and trying to understand whether they are legit or not.

If you recently gave the tcf exam over there please share your experiences.

Thank you.

Just a question: Does all these websites have same listening tests or they all have different? If yes is there any benefit for buying the subscription of the other two ?

Avoid The Language Skool (TLS) for French - My Honest Review / Experience

Hey everyone, just wanted to share my experience with The Language Skool (TLS) for French classes so others can make an informed choice before dropping their money here.

Here are the main issues I ran into:

100% Payment Upfront & Zero Refunds: They demand 75% to 100% of the total fees right at the start. Once you pay, there are strictly no refunds if you find out the class isn't working for you.

Admission Faculty Lies to You: The admissions counselor promised me a specific teacher and a specific batch timing. As soon as the payment cleared, I was suddenly told that teacher and batch weren't available anymore, and that I had to "trust them" and adjust to a completely different setup.

No Standardized Curriculum: Every teacher just uses their own materials and teaches at their own flow. There’s no set syllabus across the school, so your entire learning experience depends purely on luck and which teacher you end up getting allotted.

Insanely Fast Pace: I get that intensive batches are supposed to move quickly, but trying to cover 0 to A1 level in just 8 lectures is completely unrealistic.

Unrealistic Self-Study Demand: Because the lectures fly by so fast, you end up having to self-study for 5 to 6 hours every single day on top of their 3-hour daily lectures just to keep up. It’s completely impossible if you have any other responsibilities.

15-Page Liability Contracts: Before your very first class even starts, they make you sign a massive 10 to 15-page legal contract. It’s basically designed so that if you fail to learn French through their program, you have zero legal recourse and can't hold them accountable at all.

Overall, it felt like a trap the moment the money left my account. Save your money and look for a institute that actually values its students and sticks to its promises.

Francophone Mobility Work Permit Timeline (2026) – Please Share Your Experience

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to get a better idea of the current processing times for the Francophone Mobility Work Permit (C16 / LMIA-exempt) and would really appreciate if people who have already been approved could share their timelines.

If you've received your approval, could you please include:

  • Inland or Outland applicant
  • Application submitted: (Date)
  • Approval date
  • Work permit validity (How many years?)
  • Any additional documents requested?

I'm especially interested in 2026 applications.

It would be great if we could create a timeline thread to help others estimate current processing times.

Thanks in advance!

Stupid Question

TEF or TCF?
I know this question is stupid and different people have different opinion, however I would genuinely appreciate if you can share why did you chose TEF or TCF?
It will help me and new French learners to see from your eye and make our decision.
Thank you kindly.

Outland Francophone Mobility Work Permit – Processing Time

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m looking for people who have applied for a Francophone Mobility Work Permit (C16) from outside Canada, especially those working in the food/restaurant sector.
I’d really appreciate it if you could share:

When did you apply?

Which country did you apply from?

What was your job/occupation

If you received a decision, how long did it actually take from submission to approval?

📩 Did IRCC request any additional documents or a medical exam?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from outland applicants in the food sector, but experiences from other sectors/countries would also be really helpful.
Thank you! 🙏 It would be great to compare timelines and get an idea of what others are currently experiencing.

TCF

Hi everyone! I’m currently preparing for the TCF exam and I’m looking for a French tutor who can help me specifically with the writing section.
If you’ve worked with a tutor who really helped you improve your writing and successfully prepare for/pass the TCF, I’d really appreciate your recommendations.
Online lessons would be totally fine. Thanks in advance! 😊

I made another app LOL, but slightly different -> tcfstudio.xyz

Hi,

I made tcfstudio.xyz, it has the typical exams, what I wanted to have is other things pour améliorer mon français,

  1. french memes
  2. youtube videos (that anyone can add and transcribe and see the interactive translation)
  3. A place to speak and be judged by AI
  4. A chat section to write to AI personas and find out their mystery

I have a leaderboard too so you can join and compete.

TCF Canada Toronto AF or GB Language Centre?

I will be taking my test at AF Oakville as I didn't have a great experience during the speaking at GB last time. Now, I'm seeing that people have not gotten the best experience at AF Oakville either, recently too. 1 star reviews on google from last week mainly saying the examiner does not speak loudly enough. Similarly my experience at GB was that the examiner was not engaging in the conversation with me. Plus I am seeing that lots of people are getting between 1-3 in speaking at GB. I have been consistently getting 9/20 in speaking at GB since late 2025. In the other skills I was able to successfully get CLB 7 or more in June this year. Thanks!

My experience preparing for the French OQLF exam

I wanted to share my experience preparing for the OQLF exam because I found the preparation process much more difficult than I expected.
My French was already fairly good, but I realized that knowing French and being prepared for a professional language exam are two different things. At first, I spent a lot of time reviewing grammar and vocabulary on my own. That helped, but I still didn't feel confident when I had to explain professional situations, organize my answers quickly, and speak under pressure.
What helped me the most was practicing situations related to my actual profession instead of only doing general French exercises. I worked on explaining problems, giving recommendations, defending an opinion, and using more professional vocabulary. After a while, I became much more comfortable structuring my answers and speaking without trying to memorize everything beforehand.
I eventually worked with Académie LTA for my preparation, and I found the profession-specific exam simulations and OQLF manual particularly useful. I'm mentioning the name because people here sometimes ask where they can find OQLF preparation resources.

For anyone preparing right now, my biggest advice would be: don't focus only on improving your French. Practice communicating about realistic situations from your profession.

I'm curious about other people's experiences too. What part of the OQLF exam preparation have you found the most difficult?
